Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

All of them have sufficient power for these headphones to reach reasonable volume. I honestly couldn't tell you which I prefer as I'm not a huge fan of the 990 pro (was my 3rd of now 29 pairs). The Magni 2 U has a ton of flexibility if you decide to further your headphone collection (from sensitive IEM's to planars, not the HE-6). If you like the Beyer Spike (treble boost, common to their "house sound") then I think you will be just fine going the Schiit Route. If the treble sometimes bothers you, a slightly warmer source may be appropriate (Asgard or other non-schiit). I had a buddy recently go through every source/amp I have with his HD6XX trying to find what is "right" for him. His price to performance winner was the dragonfly but he certainly could tell improvements with my higher priced gear. The difference just wasn't worth the price to him. It is most certainly worth the price to me. That is the main point of my post, find something with a good return policy or you can resell easily. No two ears are the same and everyone puts different values on audio performance increases.
