Can I connect a subwoofer through the headphone jack? I know there is a sub-out but I’d like my Audio Engine S8 sub to be connected to my pc first then output to the speakers so the crossover can cut low frequencies when outputting to the drop monitors.

Interesting question. Connecting a load to the BMR1’s headphone output works like a passthrough and switches off the speakers. However, in your second setup scenario where you describe “Audioengine S8 sub to be connected to my PC first, and then output to my speakers” seems to suggest your wiring would go PC -> Audioengine Subwoofer ->> Drop BMR1 speakers. That entirely depends on whether the Audioengine has a 3.5mm output on it, like a headphone jack! Lastly, the BMR1 has a “full range” mode where it produces all frequencies with no crossover cutoff (Still audible at 80 Hz, but rolling off as the frequencies get lower), and a subwoofer mode where it rolls off at a higher bass frequency and then you can adjust your subwoofer’s crossover to mate up with the cut off point. That latter mode would make the best use of your sub’s crossover feature, and would probably be the best setup!

Thanks, rolling off a slope is normal, and typically the -3db point is used as the crossover point. Would you happen to have access to the frequency response graph to check where this point is?
FiredropsI don’t have access to anything at Drop anymore, since June. Maybe @T.Fernandez can share a recommended crossover point in addition to the one I just shared?
