looking for great quality closed back headphones

more_vert
i have a texture sensory issue when it comes to open back headphones of any sort, so I've been looking for closed back ones, but none have fit my criteria (so far). what I'm looking for are closed back headphones that: -has soft ear cups/cushions (i have glasses, normal cushions just push the glasses arms into the top of my ear and make them hurt) -great audio (ofc) -not too bulky/lightweight (just for ease of transport) -minimal (or none) audio leakage bluetooth or wired, doesn't really matter to me. if the requirements are too specific/nothing fits them then ill just take any recommendation tbh, thank you in advance (will come back to check post in like 3-4 hours) (for reference, price is not a problem to me!)

Hmm so funny enough I recently got something that could fit the criteria though you didn’t mention a price point so there could be a better option for a higher price. There is a bit of sound leakage but from what I could tell it wasnt any louder than my iPhone 12 at like 20-30% volume. The HarmonicDyne Athena at $179. Its a semi-open back with a warm sound signature (slight more emphasis on lows and mids) but doesnt sound muddy and lose out on detail. Its sound stage is great and so far its handled everything from music, gaming, and movies with no issues. The biggest difference you might get vs maybe Planars are when lots of things are happening at once it can sound a bit busy but I feel this something that happens with most single driver setups. If you absolutely love detail and seperation that Planars might be something to look at but typically require a tad more power to run so a cheap dac/amp could be nice to pair with a planar. Besides that though the Athenas are great. Sounds close to $300 like the HD 600. They also look sleek and stunning. Cables are pretty amazing too.

I have a pair of Meze 99s that are very good (not bought from Drop) that may fit the bill. You can buy the Drop equivalent here.
