There Are Pandas, and Then There Are Pandas.
And this isn't either of them! The Pandas we're talking about here, are watches, not bears. And what got me thinking about them (again) was a link posted this morning by @cm.rook who pointed a few of us to the very attractive (and not terribly priced) Yema "Rallygraph" Panda which, in it's most traditional arrangement, looks like the one on the left, but can also be had in the version on the right: The model on the left is a true Panda, while the model on the right is called a reverse Panda. The reason for that distinction is clear--Panda bears, only come in the first arrangement. Now at this point, everyone should be thinking about the most well-know Panda, The Rolex Panda, which is actually a Daytona, and among Rolex Daytonas, the most famous of which is the Paul Newman Daytona, which was famous first, because it was Paul's, and second because it sold at auction for $17.8 million (US Dollars). The story of that auction is well-known so I'll only...

That said, in the end, you're still dealing with the same owner of GoLite, so that tiger hasn't changed it's stripes. EDIT: I'm adding this in as food for thought for others who are maybe reading these comments like I am. A lot of folks voting yes are saying how much they liked/loved GoLite gear. The problem is the only similarity (other than the designs) to GoLite by MTC is the founder/owner. MTC is NOT GoLite. The current products are heavier than those offered by GoLite, are only vaguely similar, and may not be coming from the same place. Some commenting have said they want to support a Colorado company. While that's admirable, that's a bit like buying a Ford because you want to support a Michigan company. In fact nowhere on the product page does it say that anything is actually made in Colorado, just that it was "born" there. My biggest concern of all is whether or not they'll actually be able to fulfill a large order. And if they can, how long will it take them to do so? It's one thing to ask for at least, say, 20 orders to get the lowest price for a jacket, it's another thing altogether if they're going to take 2 months to fulfill the order. Unfortunately for MTC, they're now just another outdoors gear company with a limited selection of gear that isn't particularly innovative, and as such my not be around 2 years from now and the former owner burned a lot of bridges when GoLite went down. Given it's the same owner at a different company, I'm not sure how negatively that's going to impact the overall longevity of MyTrail.
