I just made an external frame out of curly maple and utilized the Molle2 waist and shoulder straps from the military. Now I will be making my own essentially dry bag or ultralight backpack with webbing to strap it to the frame. I am going to make a smaller pack as well for day hikes and that pack will roll up and stash in the bigger pack for basecamp trips. In doing my research obout modular pack systems, I found a couple companies who make them, not including Kelty. Kifaru was one and I can't remember the other. Both the ones I found were big money though which is why I started creating on my own. The Kelty is pretty cool though!

MTB/Cycling community?
I was thinking maybe this should be a thing? What's your opinion? Cycling is a bit expensive as a sport so saving a few pennies here and there on some parts wouldn't be a bad thing IMO [image]

How can I customize email alerts?
I would like to receive Outdoors Drop email alerts, however, about 90% of what I get are about flashlights or knives. I would like to get alerts about tents, sleeping pads, jackets, etc., but I'm good on knives and I haven't used a handheld flashlight while camping in years (who does that?). Is there some way to control that??? Thanks!

0 deg sleeping bag
In the market for a 0 deg sleeping bag. Not hardcore backpacker right now, but might do so in the future. Prefer not to spend too much. Have been looking at the Teton Leef, Cascade Mountain Tech and Kelty. Any thoughts on them? Thank you in advance.

Seeking affordable 2 person backpacking tent for beginners
Hello, I am looking for a cheap 2-person backpacking tent to give to a friend as a wedding gift. They don't get out too much so I don't think it has to be too fancy or expensive but preferably big enough for two people and a small dog. I am currently using the Big Agnes Fishhook UL2 and I like it for the most part although I'd prefer a zippered door.

Share Your Camping Recipes
[image] Help! So I'm in need of some good recipes and meals people make when camping and backpacking. I'm already not the most skilled or creative when I'm in the kitchen at home, and it tends to just be worse when I'm on the trail (oatmeal, oatmeal and dried fruit, oatmeal...you get the idea). I generally carry a Jetboil when I'm backpacking (and often when I'm car-camping just to heat up water for coffee), and a nice skillet and pot when I'm at campgrounds. So I have tools to at least get the job done, I just am terrible at figuring out what to do with them. I'd love to hear about what people make when they are camping, or see pictures, or even get full recipes! Sharing creative ways to transport and pack food would be a nice bonus as well ;)

Tyvek groundsheets
I see alot of people on here looking for different size groundsheets for thier tents. I am a contractor from Minnesota, this is how I create groundsheets for my tents and for some of my friends. I side and have homes and businesses sided as part of my business. I have to buy rolls of Tyvek and other brands of underlayment for siding. All technical (other than tarpaper), underlayment will also work as a ground sheet. These rolls of underlayment are sold at virtually every lumber yard. For a less expensive option get rolls of this material and cut it yourself using either a razor knife or a scissors. These rolls are readily available in 9' x 50' or 9' x 100' rolls for as little as $45.00 us currency a roll. In addition you can buy 2 story rolls 18' x 100' rolls but those need to be ordered. In other words save money, cut only what you need and exactly what size you want and either sell the rest or save it or cut it for you friends..

Mac and Cheese for the apocalypse
Am I the only one who thinks we should start a drop for some apocalypse mac and cheese? So, when do we start buying hamburgers by the bucket? Soylent is probably more efficient to ship, though. I need to know what to line the shelves of my bug out bunker for when the big one hits. [image]

Move Move Move
Many times the doctor sends people to "exercise", or we may think that we need to loose some weight or get fitter. We need to start by checking the SI joint (gait) as well as the Inner Ear and Vision.......... Please, ask, comment

Whats new on MassDrop?
Hmmmm, I've been away from MassDrop for a couple months, decide to check-in and see what's new... ..... Hmmm, NOTHING... All the same stuff I was seeing months ago, I don't see one single thing thats new or different, and not one of the expired Drops that I'd "requested" be re-offered have been re-offered... What's going on? Is MassDrop fading away?
