Monitors Heating up?!

Hey guys I need help. When I plug the monitors in, there's a small spark at the back of the speakers. Once it's been on for a while, the side shown in the picture where the power plugs into heats up to high temps 118 Farenheit. If I place the temp gun to the back, it doesnt even read how high it is, it just says HI. I'm pretty sure that this is not normal. Did I get a faulty unit? Because I've tried other plugs in my house and its the same. If anyone can help that'd be amazing <3 Love their sound btw thats why I want to keep it.

Hi there, firstly the temperatures you are getting are not out of the norm. The engineering team took several measures to ensure the temperatures are within the specified operational temperatures of the components. Using the Bluetooth input will reduce overall operating temps since it can utilize the automatic low power mode which turns off the amplifier section when nothing is playing. The spark you see is not a short but arcing which can occur when plugging in the DC barrel when the power supply is active. This will not harm the speaker and can be avoided by unplugging the AC side of the power supply. Glad you are enjoying the sound which was our top priority for the product.

118 degrees Fahrenheit = 47.7 degrees Celsius, it seems high. For "Hi" reading you should check your temp gun's specifications, and assume that it's higher than maximum.

obozgI was told from another thread and also from support that the back of the speaker itself is used to disperse the heat of the power unit, at least thats how I understand it. So it is normal for the back of the speaker to be that hot.
