Massdrop interface additions

more_vert
I think we need a frequently asked questions page linked up to especially popular drops. for instance the VB87M drop has had the does it work over usb question come up like on almost every page at least twice and has been answered at least twice. People are unwilling to look back at the massive wall of posts to find the answers to their questions. so what do you guys all think.

I think that the devil resides in the details; a few tweaks would be enough to make the website much more polished.
1. The 'reply' and 'share' buttons have multiple words.
2. There is a large, bolded 'image' superimposed on the 'Add image' button.
3. The link/flag/edit/delete button next to the share button is labeled as more_horiz.
4. The like button is labeled as thumb_up.
5. Threads will show the name of the user that posted the latest post in the thread. The user is labeled as keyboard_tab instead of their username.

While I think a F.A.Q. section or page would help, I also think it goes around the problem rather than solving it.
Let's take a step back and think why people are asking such questions in the first place. The primary reason is likely because the product page doesn't explain the details and specs well enough. I've always seen the F.A.Q. page as a failure to do a good job explaining things in the first place. Ideally, the end user should never feel the need to browse a F.A.Q. because they should be able to find the information where they expected it to be in the first place. F.A.Q.s exist as a cop out to a proper information architecture.

fancymansYeah I agree, keep seeing the same questions asked each time a drop is re-run, when they could have just updated the description. Come on Massdrop!

fancymansThis happens all the time in the blades section as well. Most drops don't include the type of washers in their description which in turn causes a deluge of questions.
Consequently there are also drops with factually inaccurate information which is definitely not okay.

It would be nice to see an "interested In" button on the drop pages, because as it stands, if i want to keep an eye on a drop i have to constantly check back on the page to see the price etc. it would be cool if we could "follow" a drop and get notifications when the price changes, days left etc.

Yes, but what if I don't want to commit at all and want to save it for the next time it drops (if it does) in the distant future.

Yes, a gallery for the images posted in the comments. However, a gallery for the drop description would be nice too.

D.JovesThats a great idea. However, you should be put into one stream of all the images (within a drop description) when you click on a picture there. If that is not working for you can you please send over information around what browser you are using on what OS and I'll have someone look into it.

Maybe we could start it ourselves, since we can start conversations, and link to them. The only problem with that as of now, is that those that are not in the beta can't see the conversations (ask me how I know).

Or if there was a feature that would allow you to search through a discussion. Not sure how this would work as I'm not a programer or anything but it would be nice,

Absolutly, or better updated description pages of drops covering that. I can't understand fundamental information isn't given at those pages. A simple sentence, this mk only works with BT and not with USB, it's just for charging, would do miracles.
I although would like to see that questions are somehow being flagged to the devs to let them see interaction/answers are needed. It's one thing to let the community giving answers, that's what a community is meant to be, but i've seen it more than once that a question comes up only staff can answer and nothing happens at all. And this is not professional by any means!
