I've never used the Sony's before so I cannot vouch for their noise-cancelling capability but they are the exact same price as the Bose QC35's and seem to get good reviews so if we could get a drop with a good price, I'd be willing to give them a go. Hard to beat the Bose reputation and sound quality though.

I had not heard about the Sony. I wish they had been tested more thoroughly in the Wirecutter tests (they get one brief mention way down the article).

The Sony's have been reviewed by numerous people, sites and tech youtube channels. They get just as high marks in noise cancelling and higher than the QC35 by many. The sound is in particular with the QC35 as well by many reviews as well. Sound is obviously subjective. So try them both and see which you prefer. The Sony and QC35 are probably the two best out right now. Youtube has many reviews where they pit the two against each other. Good luck

I'd love to try both of them, in parallell, while travelling on an airplane. I have a terrible tinnitus when travelling by plane so the noice cancelling effociency is more important than the other "nice to have" feaatures..:

Try buying them both from amazon at the same time. Then send back the one you don't like. Or send both back for that matter. Such a hassle free way to compare two similar products

I have tinnitus all the time :-(
I am sadly part of the 15% of the population that has that syndrome on a permanent basis. On some days it's perfectly OK and barely audible, and on some others, boy-oh-boy. Plus I travel lots of time per year for the job.... By plane! So definitely the fates are not smiling on me on that front.
Noise cancelling definitively helps while traveling; I use an older Bose QC3 pair of headphones and even that is a godsend. Would love to upgrade however as it's showing its age...
Thanks to @Bluetoothguy also, I will seriously consider the Sony.

Thanks for the great info!!! I will now consider the Sony when I upgrade (see my reply to @peji70 below).
However right now I'm considering the 'wired' version of the Bose headphones, AKA QC25, just because they take regular AAA batteries. I always prefer user replaceable batteries to internal ones, which can't be changed when they start losing charge holding capability.
Yes it's wired, but it's not a show stopper for me, and there is always this: https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Bluetooth-Adapter-QuietComfort-Headphones/dp/B01MTQGY69

The Sony's come with a cord of your battery dies. Simply plug them in and yourself good to go. You can keep the cord in the case for when you need them.

Good to know, but what I mean is, I prefer AAA because after a couple of years, internal batteries start losing the ability to hold long charges, and you either change your equipment altogether, or you have to start surgery on your equipment if you want to change the battery (you have to open the equipment, sometimes un-solder stuff, etc.). That is, if you find an OEM replacement internal battery.
The battery on my QC3 is starting to lose its wind, and Bose replacement batteries are frikking expensive. There are clone batteries, but they have bad reviews.
It's same as smartphones, I'll never understand why they switched to internal batteries to save a couple of millimeters. Or, rather, yes I know; it's called planned obsolescence I guess.

Looking for a DAC/AMP or Mixamp that supports 2 inputs (1x optical)
I currently have an Astro TR mixamp, and use it to mix between Discord Voice chat on PC and Game audio on Xbox, however I am looking for something that does this without built in forced digital surround sound as I have AKG K701's on the way and want a more pure sound. Thanks for any help/suggestions.

Anyone bought Sennheiser 6xx from India. If so can you tell me how much did you pay for customs?
I 've been seeing conflicting reports on that. Some are saying that they paid as much as 40%. Yet some are saying they haven't paid anything. Paying 40% customs defeats the whole purpose of buying affordable drops.

Headphones / DACs / Balanced Input
Hello, newbie here. I have been reading a lot of discussions here for the last couple of days and learned a lot already. I'd appreciate if I can get some opinions on a few issues since there are a lot of people here with a lot more experience than I have. My entry level Sennheiser PX100 IIi have died on me recently. I have been using it for 3-4 years connected to Fiio E10K. So, I have been doing some research and decided to upgrade to Drop + Grace Design Standard DAC Balanced connected to Drop + THX AAA™ 789 Linear Amplifier. The sound source is my laptop. But I have read somewhere in the discussions here that the DAC is not really balanced because its chip is not capable of it. Is this really true? If this is true I guess it makes more sense to buy the one without balanced connection since it is cheaper. Does the sound quality differ between balanced/unbalanced connections in this DAC? Also I'd appreciate any headphone recommendations. I mostly listen to electronic music and...

Something wrong with my setup?
So I just got the HD6xx and the Schiit Heresy and Modi stack. I put in my RCA cables from the Modi to the Heresy and then plugged in the usb from the Modi to my pc. I plugged the headphones in and everything sounds great. However, there is this static and some pops in the left driver of my headphones when I'm using it. I don't want to jump to conclusions and think I have a faulty unit so I'm wondering if something is wrong with how I set everything up. Thank you.

Wrong Shipping Address (Not my fault)
Hi, Im a little frustrated, my item is going to the wrong address and it seems like i cannot change it. i had provided the correct shipping address on the account and when i made the purchase. This correct address was confirmed to me in the receipt i had received from drop. I have a downloaded pdf and email to prove this. However i can see on DHL tracking that it has listed an incorrect address, it has reached my country and now a new carrier Yodel will be taking over. I have contacted DHL (bot) and they have told me i need to contact the supplier (DROP) to get the address changed. Ive also tried contacting Yodel (my package goes to Yodel after i pay customs ). Yodel has told me that they cannot change the address it is going to unless a failed attempt has been made at the address or they can put the item into their network and i can re-order from the supplier ( ive no idea how this works) Obviously i want my item and i don't want it going to the incorrect address when this...

Drop shipping slow because of covid.
I payed 45 dollars for one day shipping on the 16th and my package is set to be delivered on the 21st, I have read other forum posts recently of people saying they are not receiving items or response from drop. I got a refund for the shipping, and 10 dollar credit (thank you drop) I would just choose the free shipping for now even if you need a package ASAP.
