SHIFT V1 Input Issues Coming Out of Sleep Mode

more_vert
Recently, I flashed my SHIFT v1 with the configurator app. Chose XAP and the appropriate keyboard (SHIFT v1) and did some LED config with the online configurator and then flashed the board all with that. Everything works, LEDs are as expected, keyboard input works... Except when the PC (Win 10) goes to sleep and then comes back. Keyboard will have LEDs on, It even wakes the PC up when I press a key (so there is some input being sent) but, once the PC wakes back up, the keyboard will not send input unless I unplug/plug it back in. This was never an issue on stock firmware for 4 years now so it has to be the new firmware is my guess. Anyone have suggestions or input on something I may have done wrong or maybe this is a known issue they have not addressed with the v1 (or others?) Trying to get the "Original" Firmware to reflash back to stock results in this (just hangs on compile and download)

Thank you for any... input ... on the matter 😅

WORKAROUND I have found with several steps , the following workaround allows the keyboard to NOT freeze up after waking from sleep.
  1. In Windows (you might have to skip this step if on another OS) you will want to go to your power settings (attached GIF) and disable your USB Selective Suspend Settings.
  2. Restart PC (again, if you are on a MAC or running Linux, might have to just skip to step 3 and hope that works)
  3. When waking your PC from Sleep, do it from the MOUSE, NOT THE KEYBOARD. This somehow allows the signal being sent to the USB port, to be initiated from the MOUSE instead of the one for the keyboard and this allows the keyboard to be woken in a slower manner, and has worked for me every time since I have tried this workaround. If you make a mistake and wake the PC with the keyboard, it will lock the keyboard and you will have to unplug it and replug it back in, as before, to make it work again.

@jxliu Can you or someone from technical engineering help out? I have been going the rounds with CS team and they aren't technical enough to understand the issue (or just don't have the resources to help). Is there anyway for me to flash my V1 back to OG firmware so I don't have to keep unplugging and plugging it back in each time my computer wakes from sleep?

Unplugging and plugging the keyboard back in (from the USB-C side of the keyboard) brings back connectivity. This only happens when Sleep Mode is activated on the PC and only after flashing the new firmware. It does not happen during a fresh boot
