Can the switch plug in receptacle be repaired?

more_vert
The switch receptacle, the part on the back of the PCB that the switch plugs into, came off the back of my Sense 75 PCB. Can it be reattached? Does it need to be glued or soldered or is the PCB and thus the entire keyboard useless? Thank you for any advice or answers

I presume you mean the hotswap socket? They are soldered to the PCB. Replacing one with a soldering iron maybe tricky if they were soldered on using solder paste and a hotplate, and therefore the solder is under the socket. Knocking one off may have stripped a trace from the PCB, making replacing the socket at best difficult, as worst impossible. Attaching a photo would help. Replacement sockets are available. To be honest, this is not a job for a novice solderer.

DerekJCThanks, that's pretty much what I thought. I bought a Drop Sense75 on ebay just to have a spare PCB for the 2 I currently use daily and that came off making the entire thing worthless to me. Lesson learned. I sure hope the PCB's on my 2 daily drivers don't mess up as Drop no longer sells replacements that I am aware of.
