I want to buy a new pair of earphones. My choice has come down to the Audio-Technica ATH- E40's or Shure se215. What should I get? And if you have other recommendations can you please tell me. Thanks

The Vsonic GR07 37 Anniversary Edition sounds way better than both. I used to own the E40 and hear the SE215 often.

Go and try the Westone w60 in a shop and none of these would matter.

I haven't tried the E40's, but I've tried the SE215's. My lord, the fit and sound isolation alone were almost enough for me to buy them. It's incredibly snug although a little cumbersome to put on because I wasn't used to it yet. They're quite bass heavy and in general, it's very muddy. This muddiness stopped me from buying it.
I agree with phoenixsong with the Philips Fidelio S2 recommendation. I felt there was a good balance of everything with them and I loooved them however one earbud stopped working after a few months.

I've heard both, and owned the e40 at one point in time. You can get better! I acquired the 1More 1M301 for abt USD$25 and the Philips Fidelio S2 for $37, both of which are far more balanced. The SE215's bass is a tad too strong- aggravated by its slightly loose nature. The e40 just sounds off.

Hello, Both of se215 and ATH-E40 are good Entry-level earphones. se215 has a better performance on bass. Its good at most of pop music. But if you like ACG, especially female voice parts, ATH-E40 is your better choice. Thanks

Overwhelmed With Finding a Set of Headphones
Hello, I am somewhat new to the world of audio, but have always cared about having good sounding music and media. I am looking for a set of open back headphones primarily for gaming (first person shooters) but also want to be able to listen to music. I listen to a lot of styles from metal to jazz; so I’m looking for a well rounded sound. I don’t listen to hip-hip or electronic music much, so bass isn’t a huge concern for me. I have an old amp/receiver (STR-DH100) and use the 1/4” headphone jack. The amp then plugs into my computer. So my question is... What should I be looking at? I’m around the $200 price range but have wiggle room. I want a removable cable, open back, and comfort is important. I have ATH-m40’s and they kill my ears after long gaming seasons. So far the 6XX and 58X Jubilee look appealing. Also seen some people recommend the Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO Studio (but it lacks a removable cable) as well as the AKG 7XX. Any input would be incredibly helpful. Thanks in...

Looking for headphones along my AKG K712 Pro
Hello, this is my first post, having some trouble figuring out the how the board works but nvm that. Anyway, I'm a musician (also have my small home studio) and a gamer, my current headphones are the AKG K712 Pro and I use Focusrite Clarett 4pre USB Audio interface. The AKG are great headphones, huge soundstage, very neutral, but sometimes the soundstage sound way too big, and sometimes the fact that they are neutral kinda ruins because they are very surgical towards everything I listen to. And sometimes a bit uncomfortable... I had a chance to listen to Sennheiser Game One headphones I liked how much more fun they were listening to music, I knew it wasn't the most precise recreation of the music but the smoothness was very pleasant to the ears, with one downside that the treble was cut bit too much for my taste. I also had the chance to record and listen with the Audio Technica M50X, which were great for studio uses and music, and also were quite fun. Anyway, cut the introduction...

Question for 58X owners..
Do any of y'all go ahead and buy the 6XX after buying the 58X just because you're interested in the differences in the sound? I just bought the 58X but after reading reviews on both, I find myself longing to hear the 6XX as well. Thoughts? Cheers!

Over-ear closed back headphone for long flight $200?
Taking a long flight coming up at the end of the month. I am looking for an over-ear headphone that won't disturb who I am sitting next to. I am waiting on the arrival of my 6XX's but have read that they may disturb others sitting next to me. I wanted to start researching some options. Does anyone have a recommendation for around $200? I will be using a XdSd to power them/Dac.

Will the FX Audio DAC-X6 drive the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro 250 ohm headphones well to a good volume? Does the Drop for this include the power adapter. The description says power cord but doesn't mention the adapter so I wasn't sure. How does this item vary from the FX Audio DAC-X6 being sold on Amazon? Is this item produced by Shenzhen Audio? It seems like there are some counterfeits being sold. Thanks to all in advance for your help.

Cheap, budget DAC for the Massdrop x HIFIMAN HE4XX?
As the FX Audio DAC(+amp) X6 sold out, it was well within my budget. Is the O2 AMP + SDAC DAC/AMP better than no DAC for $150? Also what are more budget DAC/AMP combos like this one, and more only-DAC combos like this one. (Cheaper)

Any suggestions for wireless headsets to be worn during exercise that won't fall off
I am looking for wireless headphones with a microphone to be worn in the gym. My ears have an atypical inner ear structure and thus none of the so called IEMs that are 'guaranteed not to fall' work for me. I am looking at preferably bluetooth 5, a hook like design that keeps the buds in place and a microphone that will allow me to answer calls while I am working out. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Budget is around USD 100.

Recessed 2 pin connectors
[image] As many of you are probably aware of, the 2 pin sockets on the KZ IEMs are different than those on the TFZ IEMs 🙄. The KZs are smaller and rounded, and the TFZ cables do fit on the KZs, but not great (not the vice versa). I’ve read that the recessed 2 pin cables by 3rd party makers, such as the Tripowin C8, fit the KZs. My question is, do any of you know of any recessed 2 pin cables that fit the TFZs? Or do I just need to use regular 2 pin cables, and let the connection remain exposed?
