I have a chamber vac and its awesome, you can do some really awesome things other then sealing bags, Im a big fan of compressing fruit (Pineapple is the best!)
That being said, I have a counter top model VP112 ( https://www.amazon.com/VacMaster-VP112-Chamber-Vacuum-Sealer/dp/B003YE8FG0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1508447371&sr=8-2&keywords=vacmaster+vp112 )and its a pain in the you know what, its crazy big and heavy, if you spill something or try to do a bag of soup or something and the bag explodes its one of the most difficult things to clean and just overall not worth the trouble.
just my 2 cents

massachrisThank you. I received the VP-215 as a combined family gift. I’ve had great success with soups, stews and liquids by elevating them at an angle inside the chamber. I’m still trying to recreate the crisp/crunchy texture of the tiny, perfectly cubed, compressed peaches at the bottom of an awesome pana cotta at Morimoto’s. Here is the desert topped with a gelee.
