Please go back to the drawing board on the production side of things. Trickling out a few hundred units isn't going to get us there. I've just bought a top end DAC, and I'm looking for the perfect amp to pair it with, but no 789 available!!!????

Hi THX can you please give us an update on the MAY shipping of these 789 AMPs? Is it all going on schedule for mid May shipping? Thanks.

Hi @THX Ltd. I've been trying to get in touch with someone about repair information for my broken THX 789 amplifier. Massdrop apparently doesn't have contact info and emails I've sent to y'all haven't been returned. Thanks!
Hi @cwelton17 , please send your personal contact info to and we'll make sure you get connected to the right folks at Massdrop. Thanks!

I actually caught myself a spot for a second "quiet" drop at around 2AM on February 5th (2019). Was already in the market for an external headphone amp after finally giving up following the endless struggle with my Creative SoundBlaster X AE-5 flagship card combined with Creative's absolute travesty of DAC software suite, Sound Connect 2. Snagged it right then and there, and got myself a Massdrop x LiquidCarbon SDAC/Amp on an in-stock offer to tide me over until the THX AAA 789 ships this May, upon which I'll pipe the audio from the SDAC/Amp (running as a pre-amp) into the THX. The really crazy thing is that only couple of hours later, the drop ended! I was shocked at how fast they went! If you want in on this hardware, I suggest you set up some kind of snipe bot to land you a spot in line for the next ninja-drop! In hindsight I almost feel dumb having spent so much money on mid-level SDAC/Amp + S-tier Amp with balanced 4-pin cables, and not investing more in the actual cans I'd be listening with (HD58X). Current headphones are amazing, I don't know what I'd even look towards as an upgrade, so I can't wait to hear what the setup sounds like with the THX addition in May. *excite!*
If it helps you at all to know: I still used my HD 58X jubilee from time to time, even though I also have an HD 800 and a bunch of other headphones. I don’t use the Jubilee as much now that I have an HD 660S (It’s just better, and fills the same spot the Jubilee did), but these amps all improve the performance of your favorite headphones. I also love my Liquid Carbon, it’s like a side grade to the THX 789 with a different flavor. However, I have the original LC version, I haven’t heard the Massdrop LCX version. How do you like it?

It sounds fantastic for me. I mostly use it while playing Destiny 2 online and the gunfire sounded amazing through the LCX by itself, but with the 789 cleaning it up and beefing up the signal to the cans, it's unbelievable. In-game I hear more detail than ever now than I could have ever hoped or dreamed for, and I can almost instantly tell where an enemy is approaching my position and where to meet them around the corner with a shotgun before they'd planned to do the same. I did buy the Grace Standard Balanced since the LCX isn't a balanced DAC to begin with but has the capability to output as a balanced signal from it to the cans, and the Grace Standard Balanced DAC is supposed to take care of that but I may actually end up using it in the office and just keep using the LCX chained with the 789 at home. i love the ability to adjust the gain on the LCX while it's hot, and the flexibility and ease of switching to a different output on the LCX if i wanted to switch between my desktop speakers versus my headset for more ambient listening, etc. etc. I didn't really notice the difference between the two setups since both seem to result in absolutely fantastic sound quality regardless of which DAC was behind the 789, and since I'd rather not plop $600+ of equipment on my desk at work so I can be interrupted every 15 minutes anyway by somebody needing me to fix something "right now", I think the smaller and more portable unit with a more realistic set of features appropriate to the desktop footprint seemed to make the most sense.

Let me go on the record... player for the first time
Hi, I'm looking at getting into the record player game. Thank you for your time in advance, I know this is a long read. Anyways... I have some Massdrop x AKG M220 Blues and a Little Dot Mk 3 220v tube amp from the Mega Mystery Box from way back when, and I've really only used the AKGs a few times, but enough that I can tell they're WAY beyond the quality of music I can push to them. I need some recommendations on some speakers, a record player, and maybe an amp if what I'm working with is totally inappropriate. I'm really new to the audiophile game, so if there's another piece of kit I'd need to get the most out of a setup, please don't hesitate to let me know. I'm giving rough budgets, but if you know of something that's a little outside the range but is a much larger leap in performance and features than the leap in budget, I'm game. If anyone knows of a good place to get new and old records for good prices, I'd like to know that too! The intent is to have a nice place to sit...

Amazon Listing Suppression? How Do I Fix It?
What is a Suppressed Amazon listing? So what is an Amazon suppressed listing? When a listing doesn’t live up to Amazon’s rigorous standards, they will suppress it. These listings won’t be visible to your customers – hence the name, and listing suppression. Since the dawn of the COVID era, suppressed Amazon listings are one of the most common problems that a seller can face. Simply put – a suppressed listing is when Amazon hides your product from the search and browse areas because it doesn’t meet their listing standards. Here is a great example where the buy-box is suppressed. Look familiar? Amazon does this to improve the shopping experience for their users by effectively deactivating low-quality product listings through suppression. They want to maximize their customer’s ability to find, evaluate and quickly purchase products, and every decision behind suppressing a listing comes from a research-first approach to Amazon’s sales management. When inside Seller Central...
