Thinking about a dehydration machine so I can fix my own foods. I've grown to hate any kind of cooking that requires clean up. I've got pots galore, but I'd rather just carry my kettle.

jweaksThis would be a great drop - food dehydrators. I've been eyeing https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B008OKI8GG/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_ggqRCbY16YZVF for a while. Its just the price, and finding a place to keep it when not in use. Any models you've been looking at?

mthayrI'm looking at this one: https://smile.amazon.com/Excalibur-3926TB-Dehydrator-Temperature-Dehydration/dp/B008OV4FD0 I wasted money on a cheap one that died pretty quick.

jweaksCheck out the "Excalibur" line of dehydrators! I've had mine about 10 years and works great. Also there are plenty of books out there with recipes for DIY dehydrated meals that are way better than store bought. and cheaper.

TheMailman1Just an FYI - I picked up the Excalibur 3926TB yesterday from woot.com for $169. I don't think even massdrop could do that well on a $300 machine. If you're interested @jweaks I'd get one before they're gone.

TheMailman1Its the nine tray model... they had it in white as well (for $10 cheaper) but I wasn't sure if that was a previous model or something. Either way.. looking forward to dehydrating and rehydrating my own chili in the backcountry this year...
