TheWreckerGuyA meager collection by some standards but each piece here is thoroughly enjoyed (or at the least appreciated for its utility factor) by me. 😁

TheWreckerGuyNice collection! It looks like you have several divers. I'd love to hear the details about them!

TheWreckerGuyHere is an updated photo of the box, as I have added a JDM 3rd Gen Sumo to my collection. I'm a May baby (birthstone is an emerald) and green has been my fave for a lifetime. So top row L to R ~ Spinnaker Cahill, Seiko 3rd Gen Sumo (SBDC081), the ubiquitous Seiko SKX007 which is being replaced this week by an SKX007j and the Malaysian variant is to become my everyday, everywhere beater (it is a strap monster - utterly ANYTHING you pair it with looks good), Seiko Save The Ocean Great White Shark edition turtle (SRPD21), Seiko SKX011j, an Invicta Pro Diver auto that's been my beater but will likely now be given to my son Bottom row L to R ~ Weil & Harburg Karkin chrono (not autos but they do have Swiss Ronda movements) [x2], an Aragon Divemaster NH36 (purple) an Aragon Gauge, another Aragon Divemaster NH36 (blue), and an Invicta Aviator that was an impulse buy at around $30 as I liked the similarities to the Hamilton it's plainly ripping off without the Hammy price tag. 😂 There is more turnover to come soon in the box... As I journey through my addiction to wristwatches I find myself both drawn to divers for their utilitarian value and the inherent toughness in their design and also pieces with automatic movements versus quartz options. I have an Aragon Divemaster 9100 which should be here tomorrow I nabbed right here off of Drop, and I pre-ordered the Aragon Superjet. I am presently utterly salivating over the Seiko Marine Master 600m SBDB011 which uses the same Spring Drive movement as their Grand Seiko line (the seamless sweep of the seconds hand is captivating to me) but I am unsure if I'm game to spend that much on such a truly capable dive watch when I don't at all dive. Thank you for the compliments! Much appreciated

TheWreckerGuyMan, I love that SRPD21 Turtle! What are your thoughts on it? I have an Orange Monster and love the deep ridges on the bezel and the bezel guard. How vulnerable/fragile is the bezel of the Turtle? Is the Turtle something suitable for outdoor yard work and other activities (stream fishing, boating, hunting ...)? As for the SBDB011, that is a very appealing watch, even if you never dive - go for it!

TheWreckerGuyThe Save The Ocean turtle is easily one of my faves if for nothing more than its aesthetics. While I do like the first iteration of the Save The Ocean pieces (both the turtle and the samurai) with their blue to black gradient dials the wave pattern on this Great White Shark edition catches natural sunlight in a way its older cousins simply can't. And the silhouette of a shark's dorsal fin adjacent the 8 o'clock marker makes for a great conversation starter when people notice it. As to the durability of the bezel? I couldn't say, honestly. I am pretty conscious of how my watches get treated during various activities as to not damage them. I'm a rollback tow truck operator for a rather large tow & recovery company (an industry notoriously hard on watches) which is why I have pieces specifically designated to be beaters that it won't hurt my feelings overmuch if they get beat up so long as they continue to keep time properly. The Invicta Pro Diver was my beater because I caught it very cheap (<$50) but its 40mm case is a touch too small for my preferences which is why I ordered an SKX007j for a keeper and the SKX007k is to become my beater once its Japanese sibling arrives. That said, for the activities you have listed (hunting, fishing, boating) I don't see any of those being an issue for it.

TheWreckerGuyThanks for the thoughtful responses to my query and for your enthusiasm for the SRPD21 Turtle. I have added it to my wishlist! As for the SBDB011, the ever-rising price of the Rolex GMT Master II is forcing me to consider replacing the Rolex with the SBDB011 as my "watch for the rest of my life". Thanks for bringing it to my attention!
