I'm just getting into custom keyboards and these caps just match me, but they are sold out... Where can I buy the gmk ones? Is there any way I can get it for a cheaper price?

abe66Most of these "special" themed keycaps are Group Buy only. That means, someone will gather all the people who want the keycap set, then get a company to manufacture it for one time only. Joining a groupbuy for keycaps would be the cheapest way to get them.
It will cost more to get them second hand.

Good news all! I would like to notify everyone that Kono is doing preorders for a GMK Camping version of this set. For those new to keycaps, GMK is not the same profile as SA!

I am in no way associated with Kono so I would not be able to answer any questions regarding this set. However, I had a look and thought I'd point out a few things here.
Pros: - The set has more keys and should fit more keyboards - Estimated ship is May 15th this year - It is ABS and double shot which is the same way the SA set was built - GMK will fit in those wooden keyboard cases with a lid (wood cases look amazing with this set) - Personally I have had very good experiences with the Kono store and GMK products - You love GMK keycaps @control Things to consider: - You cannot purchase specific key groups of the set. You have to purchase the whole set in one go. (this isn't that bad considering you would have to do same with original SA set.) - As a result of my previous point, This set is in no way cheap ($174.99 USD) - No one knows what they look like in real life as this is the first time they have been released. Looks good in the pictures though.

Keyclack opened their popup store just a few hours ago. About 25 (number from thread at /r/mechmarket) SA Camping sets sold out in less than ten minutes. They were sold for $280 a piece.
I still can't believe I was one of the few who managed to get a set.

I found a link on Taobao for this keyset SA CAMPING. I asked if it would be available for purchase but until today, nobody has ever answered the question and the product is still available for purchase.

Hi everyone, it's been a while as I have been quite busy and I just wanted to give an update on whats happening. I am in contact with someone from geekhack and asking him to let me contact the designer. I am still waiting to hear back from him.
I am going to try to ask the designer for permission to use his design and if depending on what he says, I may have to consider using a different keycap profile such as DSA or XDA. I will try my best to keep you guys updated.

It probably won't be sufficient enough for many to catch a set for those extras on keyclack.
Plus, this set was designed to commemorate a team of custom keyboard designers for their one year anniversary so I won't hold my breath on a rerun of this set ever even.
If you really wanted a set, you will have to bend over and pay prices on reddit mechmarket for a set of these.
@luofangtao : don't think they will take requests, besides I think these were made in limited quantities for a very good reason: to ensure exclusivity.

A Small Plea Against "Switch Harvesting"
First and foremost, I think that it should be said right out of the gate that you are entitled to do whatever you want to do on your own behalf and this article is not a provocation to fight with you about your decisions. Given that there were few if any switch manufacturers selling switches...

How can I turn off the LED on my keyboard?
I just bought the drop akatsuki indigo keyboard and it's perfect when the LED's aren't on. I have tried everything to turn off the LEDs but I couldn't. Does the keyboard not support turning off the LED or what?

Drop alt v1 in the drop high-profile ceramic case
I have drop alt v1 and I replaced the aluminum case with the drop alt ceramic case, however the problem is now i cannot see the rgb even with the diffuser. I can slightly see it on the north side of the diffuser but not the sides nor the southside. Please help.

Update 1:
I have been trying to contact the original makers for this set. This set was made for family and friends of Camp China so they are not looking to do a rerun of the keycaps. Looks like the original designer is no longer in contact with anyone from geekhack. This make it difficult to determine whether or not we can create a group buy for this. It is very easy to reproduce the set but for obvious reason and out of respect, I do not want to copy the set and make a rerun. I will do some research and may consider running this in a different profile.
