I dont know if this particular pair has a significant fanbase or not, but this was the cheapest open back headphone that I every got to use and they sounded super amazing compared to the price.
They used to be THE sub 20$ on-ear open-back headphones.
the pads were uselessly soft that it was very painful to keep them on the ear for even half an hour.
But still, they sounded so great that the padding issue wasn't enough to give up them.
So how about bringing them back with the help of DROP along with better padding and a bit improved bass response.
I'm curious how many people here have turntables (that aren't neglected in the garage or attic). There are a lot of great things that I'd love to see drop here specifically for turntables. Record clamps/weights, phono preamps, cleaning supplies, etc. There are so many accessories. Having a turntable show up from time to time would be pretty cool too.
Obviously if nobody is really interested in turntables here there isn't much point trying to find some cool stuff to drop.
With the new THX AAA One amp having pre-amp output I have an interest in maybe seeing in the future having a Drop Studio Mono Power Amplifier for passive speakers. I have been eyeing some sony SS-CS5s and a Sony SA-CS9 with a miniDSP. The problem is I still have to spend buckets more on power amps for the two speakers. I want a mono block for each channel but the only mono blocks that exist in a decent price are car blocks. Schiit has their Vidar/Aegir power amps that can be used as mono blocks. Something similar to that concept would be cool. Even cooler if you could some how find a way to fit THX AAA tech into it.
As for the phono amplifier. I am just curious if there could be a way to get an RIAA Phono stage amp. In an ideal world I would like THX tech with the ability to support MM and MC cartridges. I do not see this as a huge possibility so if I were to focus on anything it would me MM cartridges and seeing if you can squeeze THX tech in there.
Just kind of...
Hey guys, new to this so im not sure if this will work haha!
Im a gamer, moved from console around 7 months ago to PC. I play alot games, mainly being FPS shooters like call of duty, escape from tarkov and the like.
I purchased some DT990 pro 250ohm, with the Fiio E10k, as this was a budget kind of setup to get into 'decent audio quality'. These seemed fine on escape from tarkov as the audio on there isnt perfect. I went back to call of duty today and realised that the audio on this setup, compared to my old setup of some 8 year old Steel series with an astro mix amp was no way near as good. Footsteps were quiet, and unclear, if turned up to be able to hear the footsteps the highs would almost deafen me (also on tarkov).
So i did some digging around and settled on some HD660s as apparently the audio quality is very good along with the sound imaging, which it is. Very good. However, ive now been researching a better amp / dac than the e10k as a few people have told me its pretty...
Hi, I am looking for headphones costing up to 1000$ cad(750us dollars).
I listen to rock, hard rock and metal. I really want the cymbal crashes and the drums to stand out. I really enjoy high energy songs like "time bomb" by hollywood undead or "bang bang" and "pray" by the same band. I also enjoy power metal by bands like rhapsody, stratovarius, dream theater.
Can anyone please recommend what is "the best" replacement ear pads for the Bose Quiet Comfort 35 II?
Velour is preferred although I know that makes the headphones lose some of the ANC.
Thanks in advance :)
