Lets make this happen, a baby Orpheus for the modern audiophile world. We have the Sennheiser HE 1, but no other electrostatic from the company for the audiophile that's looking for the Sennheiser sound at an (way more) accesible price. The system should be based on the HE 60 project, an electrostatic with price-consciousness in mind, as the then HE 90 (Orpheus) was too expensive just as the HE 1 is actually. And just like the 600 series it should have a good build quality but using the famous plastic that Sennheiser is known for, which we still have from the 580 Precision and it is still rock solid. And most importantly, great sound quality paired with an energizer that can deliver (more than) enough power to drive the electrostatic driver. I would suggest the name to be HE 0X (Zero X), as it's a baby HE 1 and an 'X' has always trailed on Massdrop x Sennheiser collaborations. I had previously seen that Will from Collaborations said they had already pitched Sennheiser for the HE X0,...
Looking for OPPO PMs -- Do you want to sell your pair?
I lost my Steel Blue OPPO PM-3s in a tragic event a few months ago. (Car got stolen, got car back, headphones were gone, only thing I really wanted back). I'm interested in finding a new pair, and I'd really love the red ones or the blue ones. You can't buy them new any more, but if anyone has a used pair they'd be willing to unload, here's a buyer for you...
I have a schiit stack currently which I will upgrade later. I am looking for a good set up for music (orchestral, metal, alt rock, I tend to listen to a lot of female vocals), movies, and competitive fps games. I have okay headphones now but I'm finding I have multiple for different applications. I'd like to consolidate and upgrade.
So, thoughts on getting a HD6xx plus AD700x for music and gaming respectively.
HD 660s for both
Or Focal Elex. I'm thinking these would be my endgame? Perhaps saving money in the long run from trying to satisfy different applications.
I am a semi professional gamer (I make decent money playing but not my livelihood. I do not stream). It is important to me for positional, clarity, etc
I am not technically trained in critical listening but I do have some musical training in different instruments and I appreciate well mixed music. I love hearing things clearly and the subtle details. It makes me really happy.
I also do a lot of remote work...
I am interested in upgrading my system. I have UE 18 CSX IEMs, using i-phone as source. I am interested in the Focal Elex headphones. What would be the best pairing with DAC/amp. Are there portable options that would work with both?
