What up with the lack of Sony love?

more_vert
Saw the sigma 50 1.4 art, was immediately decided to buy, read the drop and only canon and nikon? It's 2017, many CaNikon users have jumped to Sony!

I purchased about 250 to 300 different used and or returned cameras from an estate sale kinda thing. Most of them are returns from Amazon, Newegg, Groupon and similar type sellers. Alot of them have the common issues that some cameras have and were returned rather than repaired due to the insane repair charges or just refusal of the camera companies to even fix them. An example would be the Fujifilm XF1 which had a sudden DOA brick problem and I have 5 of those. Basically what Im saying is if you need parts for your favorite camera I may have it. I have. I have several models from Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Pentax, Ricoh, Sony, Samsung, Panasonic and a few I probably missed. I spent along time going through them finding the ones that seem to work ok, but I really dont wanna offer those up just in case. So if you need specific cosmetic or electronic parts such as bottons or rear view screens send me a message on here however one does that.I got all kinds of models. Im not a camera expert or repair guy but you would be amazed at what you can learn from Youtube. For instance, right after this I'm going to watch a tutorial on the Pentax Q7 02 standard zoom to see if it has an issue.

Quoting Thom Hogan about camera sales for 2015: "Now let’s look at the final mirrorless/DSLR breakdown for 2015:
Mirrorless — 3.34m units (25.6%) DSLR — 9.7m units (74.4%) That 3.34m mirrorless total is divided by seven vendors. The DSLR total is divided primarily by two vendors, with two other vendors having minuscule portions of that volume.
Put another way, Canon and Nikon still share over 70% of the ILC market. The next closest competitor isn’t even at half of #2 Nikon’s market share (that would be Sony, by the way). "
In fact 2016 camera sales industry wide were down again from 2015. So the reason for lack of Sony love could be from a very small market share.

BF_HammerThere's not sigma art 50 1.4 for Sony mirrorless, I was talking about sigma art 50 1.4 alpha mount. Regardless of, the information you're providing seems outdated, as of April 14 2017 Sony is now #2 in the US (at least, don't know about everywhere else) in sales for full frame interchangeable lens cameras as a whole. Sigma art lens being a professional lens targeted towards the crowd that will use most likely full frame, it makes no sense for the drop to be only Canon and Nikon.
