Product Report: CTM Wireless Cable w/Mic

more_vert
I recently purchased a Clear Tune Monitors (CTM) Wireless Cable w/Mic to use with my VS-3 IEM's & wanted to give a quick report to the community. First, CTM is currently offering them @ 50% off the usual $100 price. They operate on Bluetooth V5.0. Build quality is good. The cable itself is light & covered in a braided nylon fabric. The control pod is of sufficient size & control spacing that operating it is comfortable. Sonically, the cable is very, very good! The only negatives are with some of the ergonomics: 1) The cable is a little short. It could be about 6" longer. 2) The audio prompts (both beeps & voice) are too loud. 3) The push of the button to turn the unit off & on is too long. 4) A cover for the usb port would be preferable to leaving it exposed to moisture & sweat. Still, all-in-all, it's a product I highly recommend at its current price for anyone looking to add wireless to their 78mm 2-pin IEM's.

Not trying to revive an old thread here but I have a pair of Alclair monitors and have run into issues with the recessed connector housing. From you're experience would you be able to give any insight on if this would be an issue with this cable? Or if its not too much trouble would you be able to pass along measurements of the necked down area of the connector? I called CTM and they wouldnt give me measurements on the connector housing and decided to rather tell me about a vague story of a "bad" IEM manufacturer who's connector location caused issues in the past where one side worked and the other didn't. This was after telling them that I purposefully went with the recessed connector for added rigidity while using on my motorcycle.

How are these holding up? Still worth the purchase, is your battery life around advertised or considerably less? Looking to make the purchase but just want to know how they'll hold up over months of use. Thanks in advance!

DMBdreaminThey're holding up fine. The battery life is as advertised. BT 5.0 is very efficient that way. The only issue I have from time to time is signal interference. Most of that can be contributed to traveling in a heavily congested metropolitan area (NYC). It seems to affect these types of Bluetooth devices more than it does full sized Bluetooth headphones. I can lessen the effect by keeping my phone on the same side of my body as the receiver module.

I have purchased the CTM wireless cable, but cannot find the device from my phone. May I know the default name of device that would show on your phone? Thanks.

rJJJJTrust me when I say that I made the exact same mistake when I first got the device! No other Bluetooth device that I have requires me to hold the button so long to turn on/off or to get into pairing mode.
