I'm late to the party, but I'm going to say that it's probably better to think of it in a different light. Instead of "what's a good price for a 3-5 yr lasting PC", I think it would be better to go with "what can I get for X dollars." In this way, rather than something that is completely subjective and dependent on the games you play, it is more of getting the best PC you can get for how much you want to spend.

OhWutDaHecWell, if you want to build your own... I could put together a list. I've already have some of it picked out. If you want to get a prebuilt, here's what I recommend: get something that has a lot of bang for buck. Buy a good power supply with it and either you or someone you know change out that POS of a power supply. So like this: https://www.amazon.com/iBUYPOWER-Trace-9220-Overclockable-Motherboard/dp/B07G77QHV8 And get something like https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-SuperNOVA-Modular-Warranty-120-GP-0750-X1/dp/B0797HL9Z4 to replace whatever PSU ibuypower put in the system. Oh, and if you are ever working inside of a computer please use one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Rosewill-Grounding-Alligator-RTK-002-Detachable/dp/B004N8ZQKY. Just make sure to put it on metal (like the case). I like to use the fan grills personally. Trust me, it will prevent headaches. That puts you likely around 1800 USD including an assumed 10% sales tax. Doesn't leave room for a monitor, but I assume you have a TV and...well...it'll work...

OhWutDaHecThat means no. If you don't really know what it is, then not using it won't really be an issue. The card I have picked out has the capability...but it's probably not really worthwhile turning it on. So here is what I have cooked up. I have one caveat: I think the 1660 Ti Nvidia card is going to be releasing here very soon and will likely be cheaper than the 2060 I have in the list. (2060 performance is about 11% slower than 2070 but is 30% cheaper. 1660 Ti performance currently unknown.) It may be worth looking into whether or not that card is worthwhile before buying. If you have a Microcenter near you, it may be worth checking if they have these parts here as you may be able to get bundle deals. I also recommend getting the Flash Drive of windows 10 home as I did not include a DVD drive (case supports it though). You can have it shipped in via amazon or at a local bestbuy or something. As for a kind of build guide... I been looking through a lot of them and there are varying degrees of stuff that I think isn't explained well or could be better. here's a couple to look through https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hK51upU5bkU
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhX0fOUYd8Q
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZaFqY8UF6I My couple of things:
  • Use an anti-static wrist strap. I know most of these youtubers don't use them, but it'll prevent you from zapping something accidentally.
  • I have an AIO liquid cooler in the list that should come with thermal paste pre-applied. IIRC, the EVGA CLC requires the backplate, so just getting the cooler/radiator in is going to be a process whether you put the cooler on before or after you install the motherboard.
  • I prefer to install completely then test, but that is my personal preference so I can use the case buttons. Do it how you want. The guides have kinda both ways.
  • Install the cpu cooler fan and radiator on the front unless it doesn't fit and move the case fans there to the back and/or top. You'll get better cooling.
  • This build isn't themed. If you would rather change the case or other parts for something you think looks better, you are welcome to do so.
You are welcome to ask further questions. :)

Pylinaer0: wow ty so much I didn't think you would be so kind to do that. I'm honestly in a bit of shock. Thank you very much for taking the time to do this for me. If you have a recommendation for monitors I love to hear it. But I don't want to take up more of your time so it's up to you. Anyways thanks again!

OhWutDaHecSo monitors is really going to more subjective. Here is an overview of the different technologies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BM0P7J1EPM The video recommends VA. I've found that VA and TN 144hz panels sit in close proximity in price, while IPS is more expensive. I have personally used the following: ASUS VN248H-P which is close to this: https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VN248Q-P-1920x1080-DisplayPort-Monitor/dp/B010VG2456 AOC i2476WVM which is no longer on the market AOC G2590FX. I found this one to hurt my eyes, I think it was the brightness. MSI Optix MAG24C which is close to https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Non-Glare-FreeSync-Optix-MAG241C/dp/B07FB6SY6Z I would recommend going for refresh rate (hz) over size (inches) and resolution (1080p,1440p, 4k). So 144hz, 24", 1080p would be what I would target. If you really don't care about 144hz, then I would pick up an IPS display as they, oddly, tend to be the budget 60hz displays. You can also look for something that is G-sync compatible to get your monitor refresh rate to match what the graphics card is outputting. It's probably best to try and find somewhere that you can view the monitors and try and decide what you would like.

PylinaerI don't think there are taxes on newegg most of the time I dont think it is necessary to add taxes. I would also recommend to get a sata ssd rather than the M.2 since it is cheaper. It is possble to get 500gb with that price.

John246That's probably true, but it will also depend on where someone is located. I added tax so best case scenario there's extra dollars left over and the worst case scenario of tax being applied is mostly covered. As for the SSD, that's true as well. I intended the M.2 to be the OS drive plus one or two main games with the rest on the spinny drive. A SATA 2.5" SSD would work as well. @OhWutDaHec Keep us updated on how it goes!
