Thought I'd throw this idea out there.
My name is Mik, and I've been selling the Aural Life IEM Headphone Stands via Amazon and on the Aural Life website.
The purpose of the IEM stand is to display your collection of IEMs.
I've been on Massdrop for quite some time now, and it just occurred to me that it might be cool for our community to have our very own Massdrop IEM stands.
I've had a few audio companies ask me to produce IEM stands with their own logos on them.
I can ask my manufacturer to produce a limited run of IEM stands based on the amount of interest out there.
Of course, I'd have to talk to the Massdrop team themselves and work out all the important details and legal stuff.

KEF LS50 Drop....Anyone else drooling at this prospect?
For those of you who may not know, the KEF LS50's are one of the best rated desktop/monitor speaker around. They have received constant praise from sites like "what hi-fi", cnet, sound and vision, stereophile magazine, etc etc. almost always achieving a near perfect score and receiving multiple 2016 product of the year awards. They are normally $1500 for a pair, and come in some pretty awesome color schemes like black and gold, titanium grey and blue, white and blue, and red and gray I believe. I've been saving up for these for a few weeks now, and I would love to see them offered in a drop! Below are some links about these gorgeous works of art.
Has anyone at Massdrop thought about creating a collaborative version of the Sennheiser HD 25? Team members could confect a dark blue plastic model, or finesse and fine-tune the HD 25 Aluminum (not the Amperior; I'm talking about the proper HD 25 with fully detachable cable, etc.).
Comparison review king |Joker| of TheHeadphoneList gives the HD 25-1 his highest rating (http://theheadphonelist.com/headphone-review/sennheiser-hd25-1-ii/). I once spoke with him about his background as an audio engineer because I'm an old-time studio musician who has found that the HD 25-1 might be the only DJ headphone that can be used in studios for basics and overdubs. |Joker| seemed to agree.
I'm always recommending versions of the HD 25 to friends. It would be nice if I could bring those friends to Massdrop on the strength of a special edition with a reasonable price.
The DROP CAN "a headphone amplifier capable of working with many different cans, but tailored to match DROP's Sennheiser HD 6xx in a very interesting way!
At the push of a button, its fully analogue EQ filter pushes the HD 6xx to the max.
Come and see us at CanJam NY! Test the DROP Sennheiser HD 6xx with and without the DROP CAN's 6xx tuning! Hear the difference.
You’ll not be disappointed. See you there."
Fostex TR-X00 Stock Cable - 3 or 4 wires at termination?
If I cut the 1/4" TRS connector off of the stock cable will I find 3 or 4 wires? Cheap cables connect the L&R ground cables in the Y splitter then run a single ground wire down to the plug for a single termination on the sleeve. Better cables have two ground cables (plus R&L positive cables) running the entire length of the cable with both grounds terminated on the sleeve of the plug. I'd like to convert the cable to balanced but that won't work if there is only a single ground wire. Has anybody actually cut off the plug and knows what I would find? Considering how Drop likes to cut corners my gut is telling me that they probably saved a few cents and connected the grounds in the splitter but I'm hoping that I'm wrong.
They seem to ship to most countries? It seems odd that Japan just isn't available on the list? I would love a pair of HD6xx. The HD650 cost 450 USD in Japan so factoring in shipping and tax it is still far cheaper to get them here.
I got my NuForce Udac5 some time ago and it isn't good in fact really bad.
You can hear a hissing on both ears and it's loosing connection with my PC when moving.
Drop didn't mention in the drop that there is no warranty on it.
I've been into music and the quality of the sound for as long as I can remember! I have a lot of musical gear but lately my main focus has been quality headphones and good enough Amps and dacs to give you a very pleasurable listening experience. I've got some gear but have just purchased the drop Lcx + SDAC from drop.com and I'm hoping it will really make for a great listening experience with all my wired headphones. Always looking for other people's thoughts, ideas and experiences
