There Are Pandas, and Then There Are Pandas.
And this isn't either of them! The Pandas we're talking about here, are watches, not bears. And what got me thinking about them (again) was a link posted this morning by @cm.rook who pointed a few of us to the very attractive (and not terribly priced) Yema "Rallygraph" Panda which, in it's most traditional arrangement, looks like the one on the left, but can also be had in the version on the right: The model on the left is a true Panda, while the model on the right is called a reverse Panda. The reason for that distinction is clear--Panda bears, only come in the first arrangement. Now at this point, everyone should be thinking about the most well-know Panda, The Rolex Panda, which is actually a Daytona, and among Rolex Daytonas, the most famous of which is the Paul Newman Daytona, which was famous first, because it was Paul's, and second because it sold at auction for $17.8 million (US Dollars). Q: What do you do at Massdrop?
A: I manage the very talented Creative team. Together, we’re responsible for creating all the copy and imagery found on site and in marketing materials. Q: What do you like most about working at Massdrop?
A: My coworkers! Everyone works really hard and are really passionate about building a better community for our members. Q: How did you get into men's apparel?
A: I got into style after visiting my first thrift store in high school. I went to an all-male school with a dress code and was looking for anything other than the mall brands everyone else was wearing. Back then thrift stores weren’t picked over like they are today so I've built up quite a collection of vintage flannels and jackets. Q: What are some of your favorite products in that community?
A: I love quality boots and denim. My favorite boots are the Thorogood 1892 Dodgeville. For jeans I am really looking forward to receiving my pair of Massdrop x Naked & Famous Ichiban Selvage Denim. Out of all the Massdrop Made products to date, this is easily my favorite collaboration. Q: What are some of your other hobbies/interests?
A: Right now I'm really into fermentation. I started home brewing about 7 years ago but after stumbling across /r/fermentation through r/hotsauce I realized the type of ingredients to play with are endless. I find the preparation and patience to be one of the most rewarding experiences. I’m currently fermenting two jars of peppers for hot sauce, one jar of sauerkraut, and will be prepping a batch of mead this weekend.
