I've been trying to justify "climbing the ladder" for a few years now, but the stuff I own really doesn't leave me wanting more. I've even gifted away some of my favorite headphones to people in my church, like the Panasonic RP-HD10, Sennheiser HD 58X and Creative Aurvana Live!...and the Superlux HD668B and Audio-Technica ATH-M70x...and a few more. This hobby is so gratifying, I just can't keep it to myself! EDIT: I jokingly call the DA-300USB/Asgard 2 combo "The Earedeemer". It really makes the DT 990 PRO sound pleasant and musically-enjoyable, ha-ha!

Have a relatively quaint, tiny stack then.
LG23
How do you like that combo?
raansire7
Other than how well priced it is? Solid sound. Beats the hell out of the Fiio E10K I had previously. Smooth. Warmish. Powers the couple MassDrop sets I have (HD58X/M220) and those Beyerdynamic Customs with zero issues whatsoever. Damned loud at 10, 11 o'clock on the 58X, for instance and I'm not at all sensitive to volume. Build quality for the spark is phenomenal. Only downside is it seems to get pretty warm. Uber's pretty good too, but seems to have a similar warmth to it.
The stack grows taller... Now like a tower at this stage.

Friend, you are stubbornly and masochistically exposing yourself to the wrong place of the Internet if that is your viewpoint. If one is enough for you, good for you, but keep away from these types of posts that go against your ideology, or avoid commenting so you don't disturb everyone else that is participating according to the subject of the post. You are akin to a vegan who goes to a BBQ to preach veganism. This will be my last comment to you.

My desktop setup got upgraded. Finally received my THX 789. Have it running through XLRs from SMSL SU8. Emotiva A-100 powers my Fluance Signature Series speakers. And the amazing Ether CXs are my go to at home. Also have Sennheiser HD6XX, Modded Sony MDR-Z7, Ikko OH1, and Tin T2. Thinking of potentially selling my Emotiva and getting SMSL DA8 for speakers to minimize the amount of space my stack takes up.
Love My SE846 but this little Topping DAC has given my TV and Sonos Connect new life. Audio Chain: Blu Ray + PVR > TV. TV + Sonos > Inday Toslink Switch >Topping D50>B&O = Awesomeness

I get great use out of these at work. At home I plug this guy into the balanced out of a Cavalli Carbon 2.0 from a TEAC DAC with an Effect Audio Eros II 8-wire cable.
Homemade clone of a Bottlehead Crack featuring timber harvested from 5 spent skateboard decks (skated by me), 5mm aluminium top plate with prime number ventilation, custom surfboard resin volume dial, a Tungsol 12AU7 preamp tube (NOS), and a Sovtek 6AS7G power tube (NOS). I call it the Skater Crack, and pair it with my Senn HD600s. Sublime ;)

Cheers @Snake0IL415. The bottlehead crack is not readily available here in Australia. It was super-fun to build my own special version. I get amped every time I listen to it... ;) hehe.

That’s great! Wish I had the skills to build something like that!!! I built some amp racks... but that’s where my skills end :-)

Updated rig! No headphones pictured as they are all hanging from mounts attached to the left side of the desk. The Sony sub is also below the desk. I am very happy, this is pretty much my end game. I have relied pretty heavily on the used market for a lot of this and am happy with the prices I got for a lot of it. Option 1: PC -> Fiber Optic -> Aune X1s 10th -> Schiit Sys -> Marantz SR4500 -> Micca MB42X-C's/Sony Sub or Atom Amp or Little Dot Mk III (too many tubes for tube rolling) Option 2: PC -> USB -> O2 + SDAC -> Schiit Sys -> Marantz SR4500 -> Micca MB42X-C's/Sony Sub or Atom Amp or Little Dot MK III Not Pictured: SMSL SA-98E: Powering some speakers in my garage Bravo Ocean with upgraded tube: Bedroom, might move the O2 to the bedroom. Looking for a decent cheap DAC to go with the Bravo Ocean after I sold my Topping D30 and Schiit Modi 2 U to get the Aune X1s which I don't regret doing in the least. Fiio Q1 Mk 1: At the office Headphones: At Desk: Argon Mk III, HD 6XX, BD DT Pro 770 250 ohm, BD DT 990 Chrome SE 600 ohm, AKG K7XX At Bed: Superlux HD 681 and AKG M220 At Office: Sony MDR-1A and Superlux HD 668B Commute: Sony WH-1000xm2 W/Dekoni Suede Earpads

We picked up the Topping D50 and LOVE it, if you're still in the market. Replaced an ARCAM rDAC with it and the D50 blows the Arcam away.

I sold my D30 but have looked at the D50. I have been watching for one on eBay.
Just got these last week. One of a kind Rosson audio design first edition number 24 of 100.

Nuraphones? Ew.
Sold my Schitt stack and moved up with a Mytek Brooklyn DAC. One small box replaced five little boxes with the assortment of cables and wires. I also added an Audioquest Jitterbug. This system is a huge improvement and sounds as clean as it looks. I also have a Moon Audio Blue Dragon cable on the Sennheiser HD 700s.

I bought this Korg nutube dac/amp recently. It's not particularly powerful, but it drivers my iems great. It sounds tubey, and has great soundstage. A very unique and wonderful piece of equipment. :)

I purchased this from a seller, microwavemont, in Japan off the website tindie.com

Thanks for the info. It looks like there have been a few iterations of it. It's good to see that someone is interested in the nutube. I just hope it can generate enough interest to come down some in price so I won't be so hesitant to experiment with them. I can't justify burning them out at $50 each...

Great info. Thanks! Decisions decisions. :-)

It depends how you going to use it. Someone mentioned that they had it and returned cos it was hissing and heating up badly, not mine though. No hiss with Tin T2 and slightly warm but not hot when in use. And, I don't use it as a pocket device. I use it as desktop, take to work/travel/night stand unit with headphones no IEMs, so it fits my needs. By the way, it was on sale on Monoprice web when I got it

My current setup. Not included are my hd6xx that my wife uses most of the time. Currently it is mostly LCD4Z and the Noble Khan that get the most use. I will replace the hugo 2 with the tt2 at some point in time. I had one on order but it was like waiting for the thx 789 so I went with the hugo2 and mscaler instead.

Excellent gear you've got there! Also, cool that your wife likes good headphones.
