Problem setting up new keycap set - NPKC PBT Gradient set

more_vert
Hi everyone. I bought the NPKC PBT Gradient Set in a drop a while back, and have finally got around to setting it up. I am setting it up on the Massdrop ALT keyboard, and I've discovered that the space bar key is not connecting with the stabilisers. I had a similar issue with the left shift key, but a good deal of pushing and wiggling got that key connected. The space key will click into the switch key, but won't click into the stabilisers. Unfortunately this means the key sticks and wobbles. I've taken a photo, but it's not very clear - the stabilisers appear to not "reach" the key. I'm still a N00b to keyboards, and it's only my second time setting up a new keycap set. Am I doing something wrong?

Stabilizers don't have springs to return them to an upward position like a switch. Try turning the board upside down and shaking it till the stabilizer piece becomes accessable. Using a bent paperclip to keep the piece up during install might be helpful. Don't be afraid to press hard, but avoid sudden impact.
Other ways to tell if the NPKC set is not working. The stock spacebar from the ALT is working but this one isn't. The NPKC doesn't work with different mechanical keyboards. PBT has a high chance of warping so that's probably the issue.

erickongYeah I have 6 other space bars and they’re all working so I think it’s this bar that’s faulty. Thank you for your help :)
