Miles Closer to the Finish Line

After a couple rounds of prototypes, we’re excited to report that the latest sample from Sennheiser is far and away the best. These headphones sound fantastic and are measuring much closer to what we imagined. The Sennheiser engineers had few tricks up their sleeves to help us get fantastic sound with even more bass extension than the original HD 580 and HD 600. They tuned the shape of the driver diaphragm in order to lower the resonant frequency, resulting in an extension of the bass. They also added some damping to the 5 kHz area for a more linear response.

So first off ...I want to thank you Drop. You are flat-out amazing and work magic in everything you put your hands on. This in all tense and purpose could flat out be my endgame. I say this because, unlike a lot people that spend thousands for year and find out later, I've already found out that the diminishing returns for audiophiles equipment is a real thing. I've already seen that $500-$1000+ headphones, amps and DAC never match cost with performance difference over what I have now. The 58x is a completely perfect machine. If you can find anything people claim is better it is always only certain areas...like soundstage or less sub-bass ...which is the opposite reason why this headphone was created for. I don't want more sound stage because I love vocals and mids which are intimate not further away. I don't want any more highs in place of my sub-bass. And most importantly no headphone out there makes up the difference of their cost with equal performance over the 58x and I listen to everything from Break of Reality to Enya, to Metalica, to Han Zimmer to Future. There is absolutely nothing that my 58x does that I don't want and nothing that it doesn't have that I want especially paired with my 789. The law of diminishing return is real and your creation of these two products stands as a cornerstone for this law as nothing over these products ever show enough difference vs cost difference. The perfect limit has been reached with these products and you Drop are responsible for them both!
