What's most important to me is signal transmission & stability. I live & travel in highly congested signal areas & signal breakup is almost a given in certain places. While I really like Bluetooth, it can be infuriating at times when in some locations.

MaverickAHHighly congested areas + wide open areas with nothing for Bluetooth radio signals to bounce off of and come back towards your headphones, two tough environments for any Bluetooth. Also, for gaming, wired still beats wireless for latency. I believe I saw a comment by Drop staff in the discussions that there was going to be an analog wired option, which would bypass the built-in BT/DSP/DAC/amp and be fairly easy to drive with mobile devices.

Evshrug"Also, for gaming, wired still beats wireless for latency." for what it's worth, i cant think of any wireless gaming headsets that use bluetooth. the wireless headsets i have used (LucidSound LS31, Arctis 7, and Sony Gold Wireless [both old and new versions]) all use a 2.4Ghz wireless dongle and have absolutely no noticeable latency. the one time i did try to use bluetooth headphones for gaming + chat audio, they completely choked lol.

motodAudeze Mobius. But the preferred connection is still USB. I’m trying to find out if Sennheiser’s new GSP 670 connects to its proprietary USB dongle with 2.4 GHz radio wireless, despite the headset also supporting Bluetooth 5. I haven’t personally owned a 2.4GHz wireless headphone (gaming or otherwise) yet.

Evshrugah, fair enough. i'd be curious what the sound quality difference is (between usb and bluetooth on the mobius), but i suppose that's a thread for another time. :)

motodFor music (which is a worthwhile thing to mention in regards to the potential for the upcoming Drop headphone), what stood out to me is how good Bluetooth can sound these days. In fact, I think a good Bluetooth setup could beat an analog setup connected to a cheaper phone... we’re getting to the point where the quality of the DAC and Amp in the phone or BT headphone will make more of a difference in the final quality than the Bluetooth itself. USB was objectively better, but subjectively I was still satisfied with Bluetooth and I still could hear that Planar character. For gaming though, it was still noticeably laggy. Worse lag and sound quality on top of that if you also enable your mic for 2-way transmission over the same bandwidth.

h0130j03if i remember correctly, the arctis 3 does have BT capabilities, but only for non-gaming audio, and you're effectively forced to use it wired for gaming. all of steelseries's literature for the arctis 3 seems to make this distinction.

motodYou could connect it to the Nintendo Switch Online app via bluetooth while connected via cable to a Switch for voice chat capability along with game audio. But yes, in every other case the bluetooth function is effectively for non-gaming purposes.
