Hitting the Sweet Spot on Sound

more_vert
To achieve our desired sound, we’ve decided on a Knowles full-range balanced-armature driver for a more balanced, natural signature. Known for its quality and efficiency, this driver will allow for a longer battery life than you’d get with a dynamic driver. Now, it’s time for listening tests! First, we’ll examine the midrange to see if anything stands out to us, then we’ll move to the treble and listen for any unwanted spikes. Along with checking the bass levels, we’ll look at shape, extension, tonality, speed, and control. We’ll ask ourselves: Does the bass feel muddy or unnaturally fast? Is it fatiguing? Does it have the right amount of kick? We have our go-to tracks with different basslines, including Lauryn Hill’s “Doo-Wop (That Thing)” and Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” and “Doin’ It Right.” To check different aspects of sound, we’ll also run a test track that goes beyond the threshold of human hearing on both the treble and bass ends.
