Initial Design Concepts

The whole point of carrying a blade is being able to use it, which is why we’re creating a folder you won’t have to worry about getting a little dirty. That said, we know we can’t throw together a tough hunk of metal without a putting little artistic thought behind it. We just received the initial design from Ferrum Forge, and we think it has a great balance of form and function. Called the Falcon, the design is clean, agile, and effective. It features a titanium handle with ergonomic cutouts for a comfy grip, and a stout 2.9-inch blade with a choil for sharpening. We love the design so far, but the choil isn’t quite big enough. In order to confidently choke up on the Falcon, we want to open up the choil a bit more to make room for an index finger. We’re also going to get holes drilled on both sides of the handle to ensure the clip supports both righties and lefties.

I bought this knife and was hoping that the opening action would be as sensational as the miraculously smooth Kershaw flipper I got on Drop. The Falcon is okay, but much stiffer to open than the Kershaw. And the frame lock is too tight and hard to disengage. Are there tips on adjusting it?

EdLuvaI noticed the crux is kinda stiff to disengage also. The keen is fantastic and easy to disengage. A great couch flipper also lol. All the collabs i own from MD have been excellent values and im very happy with them overall including the crux, keen, and gent. I dont own the falcon but WE makes fantastic knives and i imagine your falcon will break in with a little time. I believe it runs on bearings and should flip very well after the initial break in. You could oil the pivot and adjust it to get it how you like as well which will smooth the action up also. It should be way nicer than any Kershaw afterwards.
