High Quality HOTAS for a decent price?

more_vert
What's a premium HOTAS with a justified pricetag that would be worth buying for games such as Elite Dangerous? Post your opinions and links to product pages if possible. A product that is available in Australian stores would also be preferable (I'm Australian).

Now, as the long silence may indicate, that is not an easy question. A few years back, when I was looking to buy a new HOTAS there were basically 2 choices that I found. The reasonable priced Thrustmaster lineup like https://www.amazon.com/Thrustmaster-T-Flight-Hotas-Flight-Stick-PC/dp/B001CXYMFS/ ( for 50ish bucks ) and the much less reasonable Warthog https://www.amazon.com/Thrustmaster-T-Flight-Hotas-Flight-Stick-PC/dp/B001CXYMFS/ for some 300+ $$$. But it looked like much better build quality. Coming from a recently broken 40ish $ controller I was looking for something more robust, but ended up going with some Thrustmaster Afterburner again. But since the previous one I owned went too-jumpy-for-any-dead-zone after like 5ish years of hardly any use (-- admittedly less-than-ideal storage conditions might be to blame --) I have a hard time recommending this tier of controller. Now, the offer seems to have improved a bit in the mean time around 200$ mark. Not sure if I'd consider that in the realm of 'justifiyable' expenses for a (at the time of writing) 25$ game. Depending on your target budget it may be hard to find a sweet-spot product here -- or massdrop is the wrong forum for these kind of questions. In the latter case, you might want to ask in some hard-core simulation gamer forums, where budget tends to be less of a concern in questions asked.
