What would be a good portable Dac/Amp to use with my HD6xx and Sony Xperia 1 V cell phone?
I am new to this hobby. I purchased a HD6XX and plan to use it with my Sony Xperia 1 V cell phone, that has a 3.5mm jack. I was wondering if I needed a portable dac/amp or just a portable amp and if so what would one recommend? Any assistance one could provide, would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Haz

What I listen to (in order by genre listening frequency):
Jazz/Bebop - Coltrane, Freddie Hubbard, Bill Evans, Miles Davis, Roy Hargrove, Oscar Peterson, Chet Baker, Thelonius Monk, Jamie Cullum, Harry Connick (older recordings), etc. Swing & Standards - Mel Torme (Jerry... The Velvet Fog!), Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Billy Eckstine, Johnny Hartman, etc. LoFi/Electric - Joji, Knowmadic, Saib, Aso, Sworn, Philanthrope, etc. Rock - Toto, Rush, Thrice, Whitesnake, Scorpions, Warrant, Guns N' Roses, Motley Crue, Poison, etc. Folk/Folk Rock/Surf Rock - Jack Johnson, Dan Mills, Avett Brothers, etc. Higher quality experiences I've had thus far: Wife has some Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 250s that she uses in her recording studio. Liked, didn't love. Coworker let me try his AKG K553 Pros that he may be willing to sell to me for $60. I really like those. They have good clarity across the board and didn't punch out the melody with overpowering bass. Also let me listen to his Sennheiser HD 6XXs which were a true delight. The open back really made me feel like I might have been at a live show. A friend let me listen through his HD58X Jubilees the first time I tried 1P while on the peak and maybe it was just my state of mind, but, I was absolutely loving them. Personally, I own AirPods, Logitech G230s and G35s for gaming and watching at my desktop. I like the sound quality of my G230s, but don't love the cut in quality made to accomodate the "7.1" in the G35 phones. Where I'll be doing most of my listening: In a quiet room, in a comfortable chair in my house. I recognize that are dramatically different genres which is why I'd prefer flat-tuned headphones. After all my research, I've continually heard wonderful things about the Audio Technica ATH-M[X]0x series as the best overall headphone series for they're varying prices. I'm also willing to put some cash down on an amp on top of the headphone cost if I need one. I'm open to any and all suggestions that fit my requirements. Thank you all!
