Does anyone make keycap sets compatible with Corsair Keyboards?

more_vert
Corsair mechanical keyboards have a non-standard bottom row (1.5u, 1u, 1.25u, 6.5u space, 1.25u, 1u, 1u, 1.25u) that makes them incompatible with stand (1.25u*7 + 6.25u space) keycap sets. Are there any compatible sets out there? I would really like to replace my keycaps but NOTHING I can find anywhere has a compatible bottom row.

Corsair does sell replacement PBT doubleshot shine thru keycaps in black and white, it should fit your keyboard. https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Accessories-%7C-Parts/pbt-config/p/CH-9000234-WW

IlhmI know. The keyboard comes with the black ones. I don't like the font they use, and more importantly despite the LEDs falling off enough that nothing comes through the lower half, they chose to put the modifier symbols on the bottom, which looks horrible cause they are effectively dark on the lower half.

Signature Plastics: Signature Plastics offers individual spacebars in a variety of lengths and colors to match their various profiles. For 6.5u specifically, they're currently offering DCS in RAD-PC red or GA gray; and DSA in BBQ blue, GE gray, GX gray, GQN gray, RBD red, RCR pink, or WFO white. You can also get a variety of custom DSA-profile keys in 1u to 2.75u sizes (in 0.25u increments), to fill in anything else that's missing from that bottom row. So you can take a look at everything that's DSA profile out of their currently available keysets, e.g., and then figure out what you need to backfill with single keys. (I don't think any two keysets have exactly the same kits available, so you'll need to look at each one individually to figure out which keysets have what size keys in which kits.) SP's color swatches are here, and each keyset also mentions specifically which color codes it uses in the description. (In cases where you can't exactly match, you can probably at least coordinate.) Max Keyboard: Lots of custom options here. You can specify the size of your spacebar row, including a 6.5 option that should match your exact configuration. You can even create a set in totally custom colors starting at $25 for blank caps for a full-size keeb. KBDfans: Their DSA sets come with a 6.5u spacebar and various other extra keys that should cover everything you need (though I didn't do more than glance over the other caps, so you'll want to verify).

eponymousCorsair uses the semi-standard layout characterized by the 6.5u spacebar. This size spacebar always comes with a certain configuration of sizes for the bottom row. That is what I am trying to find sets that match. Just a spacebar is not really the issue. KDB and Max do seem to b e able to handle this on some sets, but signature doesn't without a lot of extra purchasing. If you click into max and scroll sown you will see they ask for spacebar size and you can see how the different configs look. Note: alternate configurations are often characterized by the spacebar size, with the accompanying bottom row buttons corresponding. The standard layout is the 6.25u spacebar. 6.0u and 6.5u are actually almost identical except for larger alt keys on the 6.0u.

Void2258Yeah, I'm aware that it's not just the spacebar, which is why I took the time to look at more than just that instead of just throwing you the SP spacebar links. You should be able to accommodate the entire bottom row with all three of the options I provided; SP is just a bit trickier, because you'll have to separately buy the spacebars, and then fill in other individual keys for any sets that don't have the 1.5/1.25/1u caps you need (which I'm pretty sure at least some of them will). And sure, it's gonna be spendy, and for SP require a bunch of faffing around with extra keys. But that's the reality of trying to find non-Corsair caps for Corsair keebs. If you were looking for just an off-the-rack easy option for a high-quality set... Sorry, but there just isn't the market for it. (Heck, people can't even consistently hit MOQ for 40%/ortho/ergo/etc. kits in group buys.) Honestly, I'm sure it's not what you want to hear, but in your position, I'd seriously consider bailing out for something with a more typical 6.25u spacebar row if being able to swap out your keycaps is important to you. Even layouts with another nonstandard 6u/7u spacebar would be so much easier to find keycaps for. (I'm already grabbing 7u ones for if/when the Katana v2 happens, knock wood.)

I think KBDfans might. I remember seeing some shine through sets from them that supported Razer

You can always mould them yourself or order a custom set from Signature Plastics or Novelkeys. Unfortunately I had the same issue and it ended up sparking my interest in DIY mech builds. If you do find a supplier I would be interested to see what you ended up purchasing so I can give away my K95 Platinum in good conscience.
