Today Is "Don't Be Lazy Friday"

Finally decided drag out the welding torches, and fire up the hydraulic link remover to catch up on some long neglected bracelet resizing. First up was that Ocean 1 GMT I ordered a while back and then that nicely updated, fifty-eight dollar, Invicta 8926 OB. Guess which one was easier? If you said the Steinhart because of the screw-in bracelet pins, you’d be right! The Invicta uses those damn bobby-pin shaped things you have to knock in and out with 5-pound sledge hammer (fortunately one came with the last set of watch tools I bought ;- ) It's good to be caught up!

is it just the pic angle or the invicta magnifies the date better?

holdtabdownTough question to answer--first, I'd say the numbers on the Invicta date wheel are larger than those on the Steinhart, so maybe not a fair comparison. But I will add that I have two Invicta 8926OBs (one new and one about ten years old) and the cyclops on the newer version is very good and provides great magnification/readability. The older was damn near useless. However, short answer to your question might be--if I had to pick one date window for best clarity, the Invicta wins ;- )

I loved sizing the bands for my Helm watches: just use a screwdriver and you're done in 5 minutes. If they can do that on those $300 watches they should be able to do it on more!
