MassDrop Vs Drop

You guys are trying to hard, even adding it to emails "formerly known as". Might as well just kept it as massdrop. When you say drop, I think of dropbox. I bet massdrop.com gets more hits than drop.com, when you exclude direct email links. If it does still with the email links, then by God just change it back lol. Its just confusing, I don't get it. Unless some legal obligation happened, I don't get it. Then I find Massdrop just sounds better, then makes me automatically associate what they do unlike just drop. Rant over...

I think the problem is that they may be finding it hard to do the "drop" style buys where people sign up and get a lower price if more people join. The product "drops" when people join in "mass". Keycaps still work this way. At some point I think there was a meeting where someone suggested 'dropping' the 'mass' so that they could explore more traditional pricing. No one is going to compete with Amazon on price, so I'm not sure what the long term plan is here. My suggestion is to focus on finding unique products and compete on quality. I for one don't have time to troll every site out there looking for new cool things, so I would like *drop.com in my life.
Ever since Massdropchanged the name to Drop, users have been dropping the service ever since. This site will be gone by end of next year. Good job destroying something good!
You know with all the emails they send me lately!!! Its more than SpamDrop..... Its not even items I've shown interest in.....

I'll make sure to tell the internal teams that emails aren't working as intended on Monday. I'm also receiving way too many Drop emails.
Not to mention, there are other "Drop" iOS apps, and I could only find the correct one by searching for "Massdrop" and selecting the developer "Massdrop Inc." I would imagine that a similar problem may exist on the Play Store.
Think I have read that Drop folks have to read all this stuff. Maybe they just heard themselves called Assdrop one too many times, and wanted to head it off before someone moved on to calling them AssStrop or Asscop or even Assplop. That is, if they hadn’t yet. I to be honest don’t really care what they go with for a name. Up to them. The Net is a savage place. It might be dangerous to take design cues from such a rum lot. i like the Drop logo pivot screw tho. I think that could just be their thing in terms of good design principle, whatever the name.

Looking forward to my next purchase on Massdrop!
