Pizza Hotdish This is from my Aunt, and I have no idea why it is called Pizza because it uses chili powder, but it is to die for! The biggest thing is making sure it is in a good oven that can cook both the bottom layer and the top.
Ingredients: ground hamburger (this varies constantly - I usually do 1-2 pounds) dried, minced onions garlic powder Lawry's Season Salt (the brown/red stuff) chili powder Salt Pepper 1-3 cans of tomato sauce 2 cans of Pillsbury crescent rolls LOTS of cheese, shredded Baking/casserole dish Pam (if desired)
Brown the hamburger with the onions and all the seasonings. Nice and brown and very close to burnt. Then add the tomato sauce to your desired texture and let it simmer and boil down.
While this is cooking, preheat your oven to the temp on the crescent rolls package. Spray dish with pam, lay down one container of rolls and push together so there are no seams.
After the tomato hamburger mixture has cooked down a bit, pour over roll layer. Layer a good amount of cheese over the top. Cover with second can of rolls, making sure to push the edges together so that it looks like one piece.
Cook until the top is a golden brown (20-30 mins), and enjoy!
This dish does get better as it ages. Yummy!
