Shogayaki (Sliced pork and onions cooked in a savory-sweet ginger and garlic soy sauce, over white rice) is my all-time favorite comfort food. Every time I make it, it feels like it's been too long since last time.
This recipe calls for 3:2:1 soy sauce : mirin : sake, but I use a 2:2:2 ratio, either works fine. You can substitute vodka for sake if that's what you have handy. And don't forget to add minced or crushed garlic to the sauce equal to the amount of ginger (or go overboard, garlic is one of those things!)
