HeeftyHahaha as general as any rule gets; Sriracha makes everything better!
HeeftyI love both of these, and would add one more: Frank's RedHot. Each one brings something to its own subset of foods.

dvorcolAh yes the "holy trinity" of cooking. Frank's RedHot, Chalula, and Sriracha. :D For me it is: Louisiana hot sauce, soy sauce (surprisingly good on cheap microwave bean burritos and $1 egg drop soup), and sriracha (good on everything, literally). Lately I have been getting into Frank's Red Hot Sweet Chile. It's super.
smallbitDon't get me wrong, I love soy sauce too. I just don't consider it to be in the hot sauce family.

dvorcolOh shit this is just hot sauces? I substitute the franks sweet chile in then for the soy sauce for my list of three.
smallbitThe post is about any key ingredient, but this specific thread was focused on hot sauces. So no error on your part, just a bad memory on my part. ;)
