What a fascinating business model! Invite consumers to tell you what they want; negotiate with suppliers to bring those products at a lower than standard price; figure out which products sell most; work with suppliers to produce your own versions of the most successful products under your own brand label; then cut out all other models and makers. Basically, you have run an experiment on what sells most and are now taking the data from that experiment to capture the market. What’s lost is the possibility of discovery and new inputs—the community knows more and can constantly find new products to purchase. How are you going to keep diversifying the offerings you’re constantly taking over everything that has been proven to work?
