It's Complicated. Guessing if I find the Citizen Eco-Drive Blue Angels World Chronograph Atomic Timekeeping Day/Date AT8020-03L watch a tad complicated at first glance, those Blue Angel flyboys are probably not going to let me it the cockpit of one of their cool McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornets either? Well, it's there loss--I'm sure I'd make one hell of damn pilot (once I figure out what all these little dials and hands are for). Mean time, once this baby makes contact with mission control tonight, it'll reset itself (arrived one timezone off) and I'll let the government sweat the details. I mean, I assume it's the government who's sending those atomic signals out to these watches--our government hopefully. Say, wait just a damn minute--what if it's those commie-bastards over in...or wait--what if its actually beings from another planet, out to take over this world, and they're beaming mind control signals to every Citizen Atomic watch owner?!! Shoot--I gotta go!

Sorry to glom on to your posts lately Ray, but it's related... :-D My son went off to college at the University of Virginia last year, and despite having two appointments to the Naval Academy, one from Senator Tim Kaine and another from our local congressman, Bobby Scott, he did NOT get a Naval ROTC scholarship. Go figure. Regardless, he joined the UVa Naval ROTC unit, and endured a pre-enrollment week of pure HELL, plus two semesters of being "different" from other college kids, all without a promise of diddly. He was one of three ROTC students out of 19 without a scholarship. The first week was so bad, someone must have complained as the Navy sent their JAG officers to interview him and the other first year students regarding any hazing they endured. He didn't endorse the complaints, even though he could have. Esprit de corps trumped all. So I bought him this exact watch to honor his sense of honor and commitment. He won't wear it among his Navy ROTC buddies until he flies, but he loves it. And guess what? He ended up getting a three year scholarship. God bless him and the Navy ROTC program. This is coming from a guy who's grandfather, father and brother graduated from West Point. Why they wanted to be ground pounders, I'll never know, GO NAVY! LOL. Hats off to our Navy, Army, Air Force, and Marine forces!

PhlyWell I can see why you're proud of your son. I've never understood the hazing part of military (or other) schools and I'm not sure I'd be willing to subject a kid of mine to the small-brained idiots who perpetuate that mindset. On the other hand, when your son gets his wings (as I know he will), he can do his part to demonstrate true leadership and dismantle those practices before they cause harm harm to others. As Teddy would say: Bully for you, and bully for your son!
