As a (Mass)Drop Client, I'm feeling left out

more_vert
First, this is a general comment to Massdrop and its communities. Just to post I was forced to put it somewhere, so it is in Outdoors, General. I saw that the name has changed from Massdrop to Drop, and while I feel that the rebranding is probably a poor idea, I'm not writing as a marketing expert (and even if I were, I don't have the data to judge). What I don't understand is that several of the communities that I watched, and from which I've made a number of purchases have vanished. Also, the website's navigation has become confusing. Since there was once a sense of community here, and since I thought that the concept was the community was here to express a desire for products-of-interest so we could enjoy savings resulting from group purchases, I feel that I've been abandoned by drop.com, or even dismissed. Surely, this is not what the leadership at Drop.com wants! I've tried to search this site for an explanation of what is happening to this company. Frankly, I've learned more about the Drop organization from the gossip at other sites on the web — including from disgruntled employees. I would likely be more sympathetic to the leadership's decisions to make changes if they were expressed to us, here at this site. Drop.com seems to be developing into a catalog of special interest products instead of a community-led exploration of what is wonderful, unique, and new on the market. Now, there is little that is new and exciting to explore. This means my reasons for dropping by almost every week are vanishing. We were something of a community. Drop.com has the means to communicate with those of us who raised our hands and said we wanted to be here — and more, we provided our credit cards and did business here. I would appreciate being brought along with the changes in the business plan. If I understood, I might even be supportive and stay to be part of the adventure.

@AlexPk many thanks for your comment and the link to the update from Drop.
Hey there. This is the most recent update from Drop: https://drop.com/talk/25437/community-changes-and-clarity And I agree, the navigation has become difficult. It's definitely something product and engineering are working on. Thank you for taking the time to write this out and give your feedback.
