My take on the KZ ZS10 PROs

I actually purchased these IEMs from a different source.  I tend to agree with most of the reviews that I’ve read on these monitors. They are an exceptional deal if you want a crisp, clear, but definitely V-shaped sound.  The bass is deep and punchy.  They generally have more of a sub bass emphasis than mid bass.  They don’t sound muddy or boomy, though of course the transient speed isn’t like that of BAs.  I personally prefer dynamic drivers for bass.  I think most bassheads would like these IEMs.  The mids are recessed vs the highs and lows.  They’re smooth and clean, but nothing particularly special.  I think the highs are well balanced, quite extended, and clear, but not harsh or sibilant. The fit and finish is exceptional for the price point.   They are very comfortable, and I have no problem wearing them for a few hours at a time.   The isolation is average.  I found the supplied tips to fit well.  I actually like the cable a lot, and don’t mind the absence of a cinch.   In comparison to the TFZ No.3, I find the highs smoother on the No.3s.  The mids on the No.3s are much nicer.   They are more realistic sounding, are much more balanced with the lows and highs, and make vocals sound much sweeter.  I do think I like the bass on the ZS 10 PROs maybe a little more, with the sub bass tuning.  The No.3s sound warmer overall.  Are the No.3s worth twice the price?  I think so, but the ZS10s are still nice to have for variation.  If you don’t like much bass in the mix, and want a more neutral sounding IEM, I wholeheartedly recommend the Tin Hifi T2s (I don’t own the T3s, so I can’t comment on them.).  If you desire to use your IEMs for stage performance, I think the No.3s would be the best of these three monitors, but perhaps with foam tips, for better isolation.

I'm sorry to disagree with you. I don't think KZ Zs10pro is Ok. I have tested with different sources, fiio x3, X3 DAC/AMP and LG V20 smartphone. I do have Senheiser HD600 and AudioTechnica Ath M30. KZ ZS10 pro's treble/highs are not ok. It feels like there is something wrong with highs. The high are very very sharp and sometimes fatiguing and unnatural. Guys if you don't like sharp aggressive highs, then don't buy KZ ZS10pro. Other than the problem with the highs, I like all other aspects of ZS10pro.

tholaalw8Please, feel free to disagree, I just posted merely an opinion. Sorry they didn’t work out for you. I’m usually quite sensitive to bright/harsh treble, but didn’t find them harsh. Is it perhaps that you don’t like the sound of BAs? Maybe something like the TFZ S2 Pro would work better for you?

joeftanyeah.. I think so... I am not saying or implying that ZS10pro sucks or anything.. It really is a great IEM for that price. The highs are aggressive to my ears... For instance, suppose natural cymbal sound frequency is 5KHZ, this IEM represent it as 7 or 8 KHZ... Not only that, it also sounds like there are some missing details in the high frequency range (like missing airy sound/It sounds too thin/narrow(?)) when the cymbal sound is playing, Moreover, maracas sound is also way unnatural and bit harsh.

I think you will like the KZ ZS10 PROs as a complement to the T2s. I can’t comment on them directly, as I have yet to receive them, but you may also want to consider the newer KZ ZSXs (instead of the ZS10 PROs) now.

Great review. I was looking into getting a pair of these this weekend but didn’t pull the trigger yet. I think I might still pick up a pair of these to add to the arsenal. I have a pair of t2s but sometimes like a little more bass ;)
