Do y'all have a preference for stainless steel vs. aluminum moka pots? I started with aluminum, but really didn't like the buildup in the water chamber. I know people don't clean that stuff out, but it made me queasy, so I switched to SS.

WBizarreStainless steel is definitely more durable, but aluminum has better heat transfer. I don't think it makes a huge difference, but it can reduce the time your coffee spends exposed to high temperature, such will help reduce bitterness.

WBizarreWell supposedly aluminum can leach heavy metals, and I don't reaaaaaaally need it, so I use stainless.

WBizarreAluminum helped me to not burn the coffee, but maybe that's just me.

WBizarreI prefer the aluminum, original. The build up don't bother me, rather like a nicely used cast iron skillet.

WBizarreDefinitely stainless. We heard a lot about aluminum contributing to our developing dementia. I don’t know whether it’s really true, but since I’m already demented enough, I’ll take my chances with the steel, thank you.
