I find the documentation for setting up the k-type to have some gaping holes. 1) Do I have to flash the board to disable the LEDs? 2) Do I have to disassemble the board to flash? Or is there a key combo I can press to get it in that mode? 3) Used the configurator to create a custom setup. The download includes no .bin file, which the instructions say you use to flash with DFU. So how do I get this .bin file?
Thanks.

1) Yes, none of the function keys seemed to work out of the box for me. 2) No, if you flip the keyboard upside down, on the left side there is a pin hole that you can use to enter flash mode. I used a paperclip. 3) When I downloaded the custom setup I got a zip file that when extracted had a file called kiibohd.dfu.bin (it also had a kiibohd.secure.dfu.bin, but I didn't even play with this one) this is what I used to flash. Once I did that all the function keys worked. There's still no way to change the lighting much, just turn it on/off, adjust brightness, and pause it. But, from what I've seen the configurator is still being worked on and within a week or so should include the ability to fully customize the LED lighting.

Ah ok, I had found the .bin file and I saw the hole in the back and I thought that must be to flash but I wasn't ready to start jamming metal things into orifices without some instructions. Thanks. I'll try again later.
How hard would it have been for them to post what you wrote somewhere in the setup instructions ...

@Necron99 Thanks for the info. In my zip there is no .bin file, just some .kll, .json, and .log files. The log file makes it look like there is some issue on InputClubs end.

Yea, I'm not sure what the instructions are actually good for at this point. I had to dig through comments I had found all over the place to get it flashed, but once it was then everything that was supposed to work actually did. I'm looking forward to full control over the backlighting.

If Fedex is in, I'm out
The past three orders I've placed through Drop have been sabotaged by Fedex's awful shipping. Maybe it saves Drop a lot of money in shipping costs, but it cannot be helping save Drop from losing customers. The order I'm waiting for currently has visited has, no exaggeration, been to 22 different states in the US, visiting 4 of those at least twice. It's been out for delivery three times now after having arrived to the sorting facility that's 30 minutes from its final destination. Each time it's been out for delivery, it's then gone to another state hundreds of miles away. If you look at the tracking data for that shipment right now though, you don't see any of that. The tracking changes every time I look at it. But my screenshots tell a different story. I've talked to Fedex, but Fedex has awful customer service. They won't hold it at a sorting facility for me. They won't say it's lost. They claim everything is fine, and nothing is out of the ordinary. They see nothing wrong with...

My first drop will be my last unless...
I got an Alt and it certainly is the best looking industrial, almost brutalist, keyboard I've ever owned. I have Logitechs and Rubber Duckys and I probably prefer using all of those over the Alt because they're cheaper and if you never plan on customizing switches the Alt is a huge waste of money. I think for what you get it, there are way too many small things that don't go right. The feet are a joke, there should be a second set included at 6-7 degree incline. Lighting configuration is terrible, it doesn't even remember the last lighting setting you had if you restart your computer. So if you don't want rainbow you have to reset it every time. For a mechanical logitech 1/3 of the price you can do some of the coolest lighting and there are tens of thousands of designs. In order for me to customize the lighting on this I have to use powershell and do it myself??? The lighting is too dim and the shinethrough is really poor so in a regularly lit room, you have to look carefully to...
