Drop has dropped dead.

more_vert
All the sounds of a dying company. Most of the shopping communities are pretty much gone. Now, I wonder how to cancel my account. Done with this noise.

It really is a shame. We came for the variety, and now it’s the same items over and over again. I don’t know how many times I can be expected to scroll past the Klymit inflatables in the outdoor section without seeing anything new. The funny thing is, when they do roll out something new, it’s often successful - the Dan Durston tents and pack have been quite successful, so I’m not sure why they continue to serve up the same IEM’s, amps, and flashlights that have been on sale for months.

the lack of stock has really effected my purchasing habits on massdrop as well. I used to visit the site daily to see the newest drops. and I looked forward to being surprised by communities that I haven't previously considered. Nowadays, much like you I do my daily check and there is not much to check. the daily checks have turned into weekly checks, and then now into monthly checks. I do not understand why the knife and watch categories seem to be the only ones that get frequent new stock.

Yeah. It’s kinda sad; (mass)drop is pretty obviously on its last legs. I’ll miss it! Well TBH I miss it now. This is just sort of sad.

I'd love to find a site that does group purchasing. Does anyone have any recommendations?

What happened? I check every morning and now it is just the same thing everyday. Knives, watches, keyboards, headphones(or dacs/audio). Less and less everyday, I barely have to scroll to get through today's new items. All of this has taken place in the span of a month. I don't come here for drop specific items, I want to see some more variety again, even if I tend to stick to my specific hobbies.

erickongHey Eric, I did end up seeing these posts on the community page. Thank you for also linking them here. Was any other communication about this sent out? {The rest of this comment is really addressed to @staff.} If I hadn't bothered to look for the posts I wouldn't have known there was some organizational change here. If an email did go out then I must have missed it and my criticism can be ignored. I did check the Drop twitter (which is something I would normally not do) and I also didn't see any communication there either. With the name change I think we should have expected other changes to the company as well. Whether we hate them or love them it should be properly communicated and that is the problem here. This feels borderline shifty, making posts in a corner of the website that probably goes unchecked by most users. At least in my case I would never have gone out the the general community were it not for what I outlined in my original comment. I know I don't speak for everyone in that regard but whether intentional or not information wasn't being properly disseminated. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth as if I was lied to or info was kept from me. Maybe I am the only one, I can accept that and this discussion can all fade away and you guys keep doing what you feel is best and profitable for the company.
