I've tried beans from all over and roast myself. I've found one place that is far and away better than any others that I have tried yet - Bean Traders in Durham, NC. They'll ship to you, and have a good variety of various types. I personally love their espresso blend, its the most balanced and rich I've found yet - but I'm an espresso guy so not sure exactly what you're looking for, but worth a check IMHO.

CrypticMetaphrMake sure you go in and try their offerings. David is usually the barista (also owner) and is just an awesome guy. He'll make you a drink you won't soon forget. Their menu is pretty sizable and their pastries I think are all made in-house. Huge thumbs up, you're lucky to live nearby :)

CrypticMetaphrHope you get to try some of David's coffee drinks, too - he's the most awesome barista I've seen in a long time. Tell him Jeff from Santa Cruz, CA sent you ;)
