Pink noise, brown noise for the first 36 hours. You can find links to sources all over the internet for high quality pink and brown noise for your initial run-in phase. And in this, I am talking about the strictly technical run-in of equipment.
After that? I tend to like acoustic musics with limited outbursts because I want my cans to grow more flex and tone gradually, kind of warm into it, as it were. Maybe some pure digital sequencer stuff from Steve Roach,(Traveller, Empetus, Structures from Silence etc), by 48-50 hours out. Cornelius- Mellow Waves
Depending on the specific kind of headphone, after that, lotta classical and then on to whatever the fruck I want!
LOL! Probably go with Clapton Unplugged on vinyl from 1992
When I really want to stretch them out, Woodkid has some great racket to offer. Foo Fighters. Nirvana Unplugged is crazy good. Neil Young Tonight's the Night Live at the Roxy 1973. That whole album is just "Wow." Especially the remastered 180 gram double. DAMN. Would have loved to have been there when they recorded that. If it sounds like I am...... I know my headphones are ready for REAL.

TiffanyPoodleslideHi quality pink and brown noise! Lol A lil overkill, don't you think? :)

HeavyboxerYou'd probably think that spending 500 USD on a set of headphones is overkill too. It,(Brown noise), certainly would be for those Airpods you're groovin' to.
To each their own, don't you think? ;)

TiffanyPoodleslideThink you're being a tad sensitive bro, didn't mean any disrespect. I appreciate good equipment, just like the next person. 500 is fine to spend money for headphones, but wouldn't spend, say, 5K. (Unless in rupees)
I was just saying noise to "burn in" headphones might not require flac files, was thinking a noise generator app would suffice. :)
