The rice cooker is supposed to be the best, according to a friend that uses hers all the time.

KristenPI have the induction version. It makes the best rice i've ever had, every time. White rice, jasmine rice, basmati rice, short grain brown rice - every one comes out perfect. I do end up using the sweet rice function for my short grain brown rice because I like the texture it makes on that setting better. They also have a pressure cooker version, but it is very expensive and only really needed for a few types of rice (like some types of sushi rice). I had the standard fuzzy logic version for about 4 years before I upgraded to the induction version, but both are very good rice cookers. We use ours about twice a week, if not more.
One caveat - the Zojirushi rice cookers will make you a rice snob. I find myself wishing I had my rice when dining at my local Thai and Indian restaurants...

KristenPIs it better than an InstantPot. Love mine. So easy and versatile. Rice cooker looks like a one trick pony. Kristen, any comments from your friends on that?

MTHeadTo be honest, I've only made rice once in an InstantPot. Don't recall it being too memorable, but it was probably 7 years ago. I'm not a fan of having dedicated use appliances, but a rice cooker is an exception for me. There are a few other things you can make with it so it technically isn't a sole use appliance, but I've never used it that way... If I didn't make rice more than once a week, I probably wouldn't have ever bought a sole purpose rice cooker.
