Probably good to try to start some discussion.
So for those who have rice cookers, what's the craziest thing you've tried cooking in it?
I once interned at a small tech firm ages ago where the project lead had a habit of making pasta in his every day. Penne, linguine, those little egg noodles, anything was fair game. No idea if they turned out well.
I've also heard of a recent-ish Japanese craze of making these HUGE american-style pancakes in rice cookers. Some of the restaurants serving the 2-to-5 inch thick pancakes had 2+ hour waiting lines to try them!

formerangThose pancakes sound like something l need to look up! My first year of college, living in a dorm, I cooked carrots, potatoes, and some other veggies in one. I was allowed to get away with it bc the model went from active cooking to warming/off afterwards or something.

PickishPiperThere's a delicious Indian mini-pancake made from soft rice called 'Idli, ' you can mold them by hand & steam them in a rice cooker- serve with Coconut chutney, Tamarind sauce, and a Mango/Chile dip - they'll nuke the blahs right out of a rainy Thursday.
