Having a seafood spread for thanksgiving? Is that weird?

lowzhenhuiNot at all, anyone on the east coast would have been eating seafood for many of the first thanksgivings. I heard a story from someone who used to live in eastern Canada that you could tell who was from wealthy families and poor families based on what kind of sandwiches kids took to school. The rich kids had deli meat sandwiches but kids from some of the poorer fishing households had lobster!

lowzhenhuiNot at all. If people can put oysters in thanksgiving stuffing, why not go all-out? Besides, conventional wisdom holds that lobsters were served at the first thanksgiving. And I, for one, and most assuredly thankful for the sweet, succulent deliciousness that is Maine lobster!!!
