What is a good alternative or twist to the standard Thanksgiving stuffing?

cpropst421Cornbread + sage is really good. Amazingly good, as long as you like the base flavors. And really simple.

cpropst421Saute up a couple of chopped onions in a couple of sticks of butter. Set aside and brown about a pound of ground round, drain it well, then add it to the onions/butter, toss in a few eggs, add about a loaf of stale bread pulled apart into chunks, dump on a generous couple of tablespoons of poultry seasoning, mix up with a big spoon until everything looks wet (add some water if it's not very wet. Either stuff it into the turkey or put it in a baking dish covered and bake at about 325 degrees for about and hour(watch so it doesn't get dried out or too brown) This is so good you can eat it as a hearty meal by itself!
